Today was officially my last day.

I walk into the bureau feeling like I am floating. As much as I'll miss my coworkers, I am excited to start my new job.

"Morning, sunshine!", Morgan calls. I laugh and return his greeting as I sit down at my empty desk. Spencer walks over and hands me a mug of coffee and a coaster.

"Thought I should repay the favor before it's too late." I don't have to be a profiler to see the true sadness behind his laugh. I stand up and pull him into a hug. He lays his head on my shoulder and squeezes me tightly. I feel a second set of arms wrap around my back.

"Don't make me cry already", Garcia says from behind me.

The pair release me and I sit back down. During the time I spent sandwiched between the two, I had accumulated a small pile of cards. I open the envelope on top to reveal an obnoxiously shiny card.

"Good Riddance", I read aloud. I frisbee the card at Derek, sending glitter all over the floor.

"That's a Derek Morgan original. That'll be worth something someday." I roll my eyes playfully.

I read through the rest of my cards, some funny, some emotional. I look up at my friends with teary eyes.

"I'm going to miss you guys so much", I say, voice cracking. JJ gives me a hug before I hear my name being called.

"Y/n, can I see you in my office, please?", Hotch asks from the top of the stairs. I sigh and let JJ go. I follow him into his office, thanking him for holding the door for me.

That's odd.

I sit down in the chair opposite his and wait for his less-than-sincere goodbye. He sits, hands folded on his desk top, and looks at me as if he wants me to speak first.

"Know I don't take pleasure in seeing you leave", he says. The tension in the air is palpable. "You're a good agent and we're going to miss having you on our team." He is clearly uncomfortable, it's written all over his face.

"This is painful, Hotch. Just ask for my badge and gun and I'll be on my own", I say. I am really not in the mood to argue with this man today.

"Y/n, wait-" I cut him off by placing my badge and gun on his desk.

"See you around, Aaron", I spit.

He's just another man, now.
