natsu dragneel and lucy heartfilia feel more like the third wheel party. of course they were all happy for their friends, r' whatever, but honestly?

it couldn't have been more lonely.

i always thought of myself as the supporting kind, the one who's able to encourage her friends from behind the scenes. and, honest to Mavis, that's what i've been trying to do. but it's like birds in the spring, frolicking and chittering. obliviously outshining the other poor animals.

this is a bit too much. how come i'm stuck being the plus one? i'm here, at a nice diner... watching the five jillion couples of Fairy Tail lined up at one huge table. To name a few of the lovebirds, there's Gray and Juvia, who only recently announced that they're dating. Elfman and Evergreen, who are engaged.  Then, there's Erza and Jellal, who aren't very (but try to be) secretive about their relationship. And, oh Mavis, don't even get me started on Levy and Gajeel.

so I sit here, eating my food. my eyes wander over to Natsu. even Happy had a "date" with Charla, so that left the Salamander alone. although, it didn't look like he minded. he might've been too distracted to even notice, because he was stuffing his face with food. me and Natsu might be the only ones in our guild who don't have a lover of some sort. i sigh heavily, my eyes staring at his salmon-pink hair, making my way down to his charcoal eyes.

maybe it was just because it's Natsu, but he was completely oblivious to the fact that he, in fact, had become a third wheel too.

i guess he could feel my stare, because he looked at me with curious eyes and i felt myself turn away, my cheeks a bit warm.

i beg Mavis, please, please, that i won't be the third party for the rest of my life.

"huh." i mutter. luce was definitely staring at me. i tried my best not to notice and focus on my steak, but honestly i really couldn't with her big hazel eyes staring at mine. i felt my chest pounding quickly. i look around. lucy's staring has caught my attention away from food. everybody looks pretty lovey-dovey. i'd much rather drink booze and annoy gray, but what am i supposed to do when he's trying to deny that he loves juvia, while she bothers him with the same question; "do you love me?"

i stand up, catching nobody's attention but lucy's. she watches me get up. i glance away for a second, but then i remember something. it was the first of february. that means a full moon, and it was practically midnight, because we've been here since 9:00. I quickly walk over to luigi, as i grab her wrist and drag her along with me.

"natsu?!" she shrieked in my ear. "shh, luigi. i wanna show you something," i told her, as she was about to scream at me for calling her luigi. "luce, be quiet! you'll disrupt the peace if you do," i said, putting my finger against my lips, in a hush manner. "okay, okay, but at least tell me where you're taking-- me!" she gasped in awe. the diner was next to a hill, because it was in the middle of nowhere. and it had an awesome view of the night sky.

i turned to look at lucy, and just held her hand as we stared at the moon and stars.
