By the way turning out is such a sweet song and I thought that it fit this chapter's vibe perfectly!

'home'... just the thought of having Dipper in your house all night made you blush. But it was too late to take it back. The three of you were already on your front step. Despite your god-damned awkwardness you still really did want him to stay by you.

You were still uneasy from the events of that morning so being alone was approximately the worst thing you could think of.

Upon stepping inside you realize that your parents are home. You had kind of been hoping that they would have to work late again like they normally do. You weren't sure why but the idea of Dipper being around them made you extremely nervous. You also really hoped that your blush would die down before your parents could notice.

They had never been particularly overbearing or overprotective, that was mostly your brother's job. But you still thought that they might not be the happiest if their child came home one day, a blushing mess, with a boy her age planning to stay the night.

Luckily you managed to calm yourself enough for the red to subside before your mom and dad could notice. You and the Pines Twins talked to them for a while and then went up to your room.

"Sooo... (y/n)! Why were you blushing back there?" Mable questioned you in her classic silly manor.

"Errr... umm... w-what do you mean?! W-who was blushing?! I-I- I wasn't blushing! A-and if I was it d-d-definitely would have nothing to do with your brother!" You said that last part without thinking and you instantly regretted it, at least Dipper has been in the bathroom down the hall.

"OH MY GOSH! OH MY GOSH! OH MY GOSH! (Y/N) YOU TOTALLY HAVE A CRUSH ON DIPPER!" She practically screamed and you really, really hoped that Dipper couldn't hear.

"Ok so maybe I have an itsy, bitsy, Giant crush on Dipping Sauce! Please don't be mad!" You pleaded in a desperate hushed voice.

"Mad? Why would I be mad? This is great! Now I can start predicting how my little nieces and nephews are gonna look! Aww! They'll be so cute!" She fangirled making the pink on your cheeks turn to a deep crimson.

Your innocence has been gone long enough for her statement to instantly drag your mind into the gutter. And the worst part is you didn't hate the thought of it. 'Ahh! What am I thinking?! I don't even know if he likes me back!' You blushed so hard it made your ears and cheeks hurt.

"M-marbles can we please change the topic?" You asked.

After that the two of you talked about books until Dipper returned. Thankfully your cheeks had returned to their usual (s/c) hue.

— time skip! Because it's late, I'm lazy, and nothing interesting happens—

It was now almost 1:00 am, Mable was fast asleep but you and Dipper had stayed up talking the whole time. Never about anything important but you enjoyed it nonetheless. Still there was something that your heart was telling you you had to say.

"Umm, Dipper I wanna show you something, will you follow me?" You asked half way mumbling from embarrassment and shyness.

"Uhh, sure." He said in a voice that sounded almost... 'hopeful? No way (y/n)! It's just wishful thinking!' You convinced yourself.

You walked up a staircase to the top floor, Dipper followed close behind you. On the top floor you made your way to a ladder that led onto the roof.

It was cold in the night air, but not a bad cold, more like a crisp cold. It made your skin like ice to the touch but you didn't mind because it only made you feel warmer on the inside. It was refreshing. And it helped to give you a slight confidence boost.

Dipper climbed up after you and his face instantly held an expression of and awe and shock. You smiled as it warmed your heart. You were well aware of what he was looking at and it made you happy to know that he  enjoyed what you had to give.

You turned around to gaze at what he saw. The two of you sat down on the shingles of your roof. You were looking at the stars.

In a small town like Gravity Falls there weren't many street lights to dull their beauty. Nor were there many people that would dare to break the calming silence that the Nights brought with them. Being in a small town allowed the sky to reach its full potential.

"S-so, do you like it Dipping Sauce?" you asked in a nervous voice barley above a whisper.

"It's funny. I've looked at the stars in Gravity Falls about a million times before, but some how it all seems so much more amazing right now than ever before!" he answered, still awestruck.

"You know, I used to live in the big city so this was all impossible to see until like last week," you giggled lightly.

"Hey, (y-y/n) can I ask y-you something?"

"Umm, s-sure."

"What were you talking about with Mable earlier? When I was in the bathroom?"

You turned just about 1000 shades of red and pink all at once. 'Did he hear our conversation?! Ahhhh! Oh no!'

"W-w-w-why?!" You stutter out.

"Umm... well... I... might have... heard some of it. B-but I'm still, like reallyyyy confused!" He said.   You could feel your ears, cheeks, and even shoulders hurting from blushing this hard. The starlight allowed you to see that he was blushing awkwardly too.

You sighed, "how much did you hear?" you asked sounding defeated.

"Umm, like everything after Mable started yelling?" He said nervously.

"Oh no! Oh no! Oh no! I'm sorry. This is really really awkward." You facepalmed and buried your head in your knees.

"Y-yeah" he responded. For a second you thought he was going to go inside and leave you out there, but he ended up doing the opposite. He came closer to you. You could hear your heart beating faster. He wrapped his hoodie around you. Your heart got quicker again. And he hugged you tightly. You were almost crying now.

"I'm really sorry. This isn't how I wanted you to find out." You mumbled, hugging him back.

"Hey don't worry. This is going a lot better than it did with my last crush." he whispered back.

Your heart dropped. 'What did he just say?'  You stopped hugging him and just looked shocked. He let go of you too.

"W-what?" You asked.

He smiled awkwardly and put his right hand on the back of his neck showing how nervous he was. "I-I-I... I really like you, a lot (y-n)." Even in the cold night air you could feel yourself burning up. The tears in your eyes welled up, threatening to overflow.

The two of you embraced tightly again. Neither of you had thought that the other might like them back. And now that your feelings were finally out in the open you never wanted to let go of him.

"Dipper does this mean that we're dating now?" You asked a bit shyly.

"I-I guess, do you want it to mean that?" He responded.

"Yes."

The two of you stayed like that in the silence that no one dared to break for about 10 minutes. Then you went inside to sleep.

So what do you think. I hope it came off as romantic and not just weird. I'm sorry that it took so long to post. I've just been really depressed and I didn't want it to affect my writing so yeah. This story is not over but updates might be a bit slow until I can get my life together. See you next time! Byeee!
