"Once a year, daily twice
The love of your life
before your eyes.
Has no disguise,
not a heavy price.
Just the two of you
As love never dies."

"Baylee Anthony."
His voice stunned me. I felt a cold shiver run down my spine.
The woman in the witch costume's delusional words from Halloween last year ring in my ears again; and so does my name when the boy says it. I could still hear it's echo circling around my head and I toned down the music blasting from the speakers and all the conversations within a ten-mile radius. Looking at the boy in front of me, my heart wouldn't stop pounding against my ribs.
It seemed impossible. I looked into his icy blue eyes; the same ones that I remembered left me breathless everyday.
Hell, it was impossible.
A year. One whole year, I've lived by telling myself that the reason behind those strange dreams about the same boy were just my teenage hormones running crazy.
One whole year, I've lived with a lie. I've been feeding myself a lie.
I wanted to ask him so many things, before those questions could eat me alive. I could already feel my sanity slipping away from me slowly but steadily. I could feel myself losing it.
"How do you know my name?" I managed to blurt out.
Great, Baylee. Out of all the things you could've asked him, you ask him that.
Just great.
"I asked Mia," He shrugged nonchalantly. I furrowed my eyebrows at his answer.
"How do you kn —" I was cut off by a giggling blond in a Dracula costume and fake fangs, with a champagne glass of red liquid in her hand while her manicured fingers curled around its stem; as she staggered in between me and the boy.
"I heard my name and I smell fresh scoop," She said while sniffing the air around. Her steps were breezy and her voice slurred; a clear sign that she was drunk. She lost her balance but the boy caught her before she fell.
"Jeez Mia, you know you have low tolerance for alcohol; yet you drink so much," He said narrowing his eyes at her, obviously concerned. She giggled in his arms as response. At that moment, I wondered how he knew that.
"See? I'm totally fine." Mia jumped out from his arms and gave him a toothy grin, while I just stood there like an idiot.
"I see that you've met Baylee, Steve," My head perked up when I heard her say my name and the name which could possibly be his. "You and Baylee should totally hook up." She finished, giving me a quick wink.
