(KATRIAUNA'S POV)

Chapter 7

I woke up in a cell wearing chains. I was covered in dirt. How long have I been here?

Beats me, Naka said. I just woke up too. It smells strange in here, sorta like.. Chili..

Chili? Really? I sniffed. It did sort of smell like chili. That's weird.

I sniffed some more and picked up a faint trace of Soron's scent. (A/N in the name Soron the 'Sor' part is like sorry and the 'on' part is like the word on. Just so you know.)

It was leading out the cell and to the right. He must have put me in here. I wonder where--

My thoughts are interrupted by a loud clang. I look up and see someone with a bowl of what I assume is chili and a glass of milk. Suddenly my stomach rumbled and I felt like I hadn't eat in a week. Then again maybe I haven't.

The man placed the bowl and glass in front of me and unlocked my chains so I could eat. Bad idea. I thought.

Just as he unlocked the chains I grabbed his wrist and twisted his arm behind his back. I pressed my hand to his back and pushed, breaking his shoulder.

He let out a yelp of pain and dropped to the floor. I grabbed the keys he was holding. I usually would have been able to just unlock the door with my powers but Soron must have made them magic proof. Man do I hate him. I unlocked the door and shifted into my now white, black, and silver wolf.

The man now was getting up behind me. I turned around and growled. He growled back while holding his arm. I knew he was defenseless with his broken shoulder. Werewolves may be able to heal fast but broken limbs take at least a day or two to heal. I jumped up on him and killed him with a quick bite to the neck.

I shivered. I never did enjoy killing people. I shook off the fact that I'd just killed someone and ran to who knows where. All I knew was I was following Soron's scent.

After following it for at least twenty minutes I skidded to a stop at a large, metal door. I took a sniff. It reeked of Soron's scent. I gagged.

I attempted to paw open the door but then I realized that wouldn't do anything and shifted into my human form, really hoping that no one was around to see my naked body.

I opened the door as quietly as possible, only to have it squeak loudly. I groaned. But thankfully everyone inside the room was extremely loud so they didn't hear it.

I creeped through the now open door, making sure to avoid the swords and daggers placed around the entrance. I shifted to a mouse and continued walking toward the table that I could smell Soron's scent coming from.

Quickly searching the ground for something that would help me see the faces of the people at the table I found a spoon, a fork, a piece of wood, and a scrap of fabric. I looked up and found a large pile of wood that I somehow missed. It was as tall as the table and I found that I could climb up it.

As I reached the top, I looked across the room. It was very big.

Of course it's big you idiot we're a mouse. Naka chuckled. I stuck my tongue out even though she's in my head but oh well.

I spotted Soron's laughing figure. I climbed up a pole thing and perched on a beam. I shifted to a small bird and flew over to Soron.

As I alighted upon his staff that he always carries around, one of his friends noticed me.

"BIRD!" he screeched. Soron twisted toward his staff and lifted up his hand to smack me, a confused look on his face. Probably because this is an underground cell and a bird is not something you see underground.
