"HEY HEY HEY!" Bokuto said as he ran into the room.
"Good morning, Bokuto-san" the dark haired male greeted. It was 7 am, and time for their morning practice.
"AKAASHI!" He shouted loudly, as he noticed the presence of the team's setter. He ran over to him and hugged him tightly, before letting go quickly afterwards, leaving a slightly awkward presence because of his actions. They started putting up the net while waiting for the other members to show up so they could start their practice.
Akaashi leaned on the wall to catch his breath from their practice, closing his eyes in the process. He felt a sense of deja vu and started seeing pictures flashing in his mind. He opened his eyes and saw a beautiful sight of a sunset from a balcony. It was summer and he could feel the light summer breeze hitting his neck.
It was the party where Akaashi met Bokuto the year before, a flashback. The fairy lights shone beautifully in the twilight, the low lit room inside with teenagers dancing around and having fun seemingly fitting perfectly with the atmosphere outside. Like the calm and the chaos was fitting together abnormally well. The girls wearing light, summery dresses and the guys wearing button-up shirts, some wearing ties and some without.
Akaashi might have thought that it looked fun to dance but his shy, antisocial self wouldn't have as fun being pushed around by others on the dance floor, so he decided to take a breather outside on the balcony. Akaashi turned around looking into the room, leaning against the railing. Suddenly he noticed the figure coming towards him. A boy with ash-blond, almost gray hair slid open the door to the balcony and walked over to Akaashi. That boy was none other than his friend Konoha Akinori.
"Hey, Akaashit! Why're you out here all by yourself?" He asked, making that god awful pun of Akaashi's name for like the hundredth time this week.
"I'm just taking a break from all of the noise. I'll go deaf if I keep being around all the loudness in my life without taking a break once in a while." Akaashi answered simply with a sigh, trying to cover up the fact that he was too shy and antisocial to speak to new people and try to make friends.
"Mhmm... I totally believe you." He said sarcastically, not believing a word of what the other male said.
"Hey, I have a friend I think you would like!" Konoha said, lightly punching the raven-haired males arm to get his attention then pointing in the direction of the party's midpoint, where a tall, bicolour-haired male was walking towards them. His sharp golden eyes and prideful grin complementing his white-gray and black spiky hair.
"Oh no, this can not be good," Akaashi thought as he looked at the boy. He looked really big, and Akaashi would even say that he was a little intimidated by him at first glance but as the boy came closer he started to have his doubts about the "scary" looking part, since the well built boy had that grin that on first glances only looked prideful but with a little closer inspections you could tell that his grin was filled to the brim with happiness and love. "Who would think this big, "scary" looking boy might actually be a softy?" Akaashi thought to himself, he would have smiled a little if it wasn't for the fact that the strange boy was now in front of him. The boy seemed a lot smaller close up to Akaashi while still remaining taller and wider.
"Hey, hey, hey Konoha! Who's this?!" The bicoloured male asked Konoha, not breaking eye contact with Akaashi. He had a certain look of curiosity in his big, circular eyes while looking at the unamused, bored expression of the other. Akaashi was trying not to show interest in the stranger but he couldn't get over the fact that he was reminded of a horned owl whilst looking at the taller boy.
"That's Akaashi Keiji. He's in his first year at our school. Akaashi, this is Bokuto Kōtarō, your new senpai and the next captain of the volleyball team." Konoha said, introducing his two friends to each other.
