Pandora - After King Abner's death, Scipio gives Pandora a million dollars, like he promised in the letters. Pandora splits the money between Mary and herself, and the two move out of the slums to a nicer neighborhood together. She finds a well-paying and less tedious job, so she has more time to spend with Blanche.
Mary - With the money that Pandora offers her, Mary decides to adopt a child of her own, and soon they become friends with Blanche. She takes time off working to look after her child, as well as Blanche, while Pandora goes to work.
Scipio - After King Abner's death, Scipio is crowned King. He makes education compulsory and provides healthcare, food and better housing for the poorer people, abolishing the slums. He occasionally invites Pandora and Blanche to the palace. Mary included, if she wants to come.
Blanche - She starts school at the local primary school. Pandora is able to buy her some new toys and give her a room of her own. Blanche celebrates her birthday for the first time with a cake and invites her school friends over.
