As the day went on, the Commander felt an overwhelming sense of dread wash over him. The closer it got to the time of Hood's departure the more nervous he got.
This became so bad that he jumped up from his desk in a cold sweat and ran down as fast as he could towards the docks where Hood was getting everything prepared.
"Commander? What are you-" Hood started as she saw him running towards her, stopping as he slammed into her and hugged her tightly.
"Ah..." She muttered in an embarrassed tone as the other ships around her giggled at the sight of Hood's Commander clinging to her like this.
Noticing this, the Commander hung his head slightly.
"I'm sorry..." He whispered.
"Can we talk in private for a bit?"
"Of course~" She responded with a cheerful expression as she grabbed his hand and led him a short distance away.
"What is it Commander? You look terrified"
"I am..."
"Hm?"
"I know I normally don't believe in this stuff but... Since you said that something felt off I've felt it too" The Commander spoke as he rubbed his face, trying to 'get a grip' as it were.
"I'm really worried something's going to happen to you tomorrow"
Hood's expression soften as she leaned in and kissed him lightly before taking him in her arms. "I'm sorry I made you worry so much, but it'll be fine, really"
As the Commander opened his mouth to respond he closed his eyes slightly and a vision flashed before him of the sea burning and Hood slowly and silently slipping down into the water below, as an unfamiliar Ironblood ship looked on from a far distance.
As the vision came to an end he found his breathing to be labored as she squeezed her even tighter.
"Please just don't go..." He muttered as tears streamed down his face.
"I have to Commander, it's my responsibility as one of the Royal Navy's lead ships to face this new threat head on"
"But-"
"Commander it's sweet you're worrying about me, and I may not feel the best about this myself, but I still have to do this"
The Commander let out a sigh at her words, realising that she wasn't going to change her mind.
"Come on" Hood then added with a smile as she took his hand once more.
"You need to relax a bit"
---Timeskip---
"Beautiful isn't it~" Hood said in a cheerful tone as she looked over the cliff towards the ocean, noting the sun beginning to set on the horizon.
"Yeah it is" The Commander responded as Hood leaned against him, the pair sitting on the soft grass overlooking the cliffs near the base.
The Commander then let out a sigh as he watched the waves crash below, the sloshing sound of the water filling his ears.
"I'll be fine~" Hood then whispered snuggling even closer with a giggle.
"I know but..."
"What?"
"I saw something..."
"What did you see?"
"You... Sinking..."
"Hm..." Hood muttered softly as she sat up slightly.
"And here I thought fate and such was all a myth. Now you're having premonitions of the future eh?" Hood spoke with a slightly sarcastic tone, an ever so slight smirk forming on her face.
"Well I guess it isn't a myth, or I'm going crazy..."
Hood giggled at his response, leaning back into him.
"You're not crazy, it's really endearing that you worry about me so much~"
"I really do love you" He whispered as he leaned down and kissed her.
"And I love you~"
"Promise me you'll come home tomorrow?"
"I promise" She whispered as the pair embraced in the dimming light of the setting sun.
---Timeskip---
As the pair reached the base the sun had set and darkness had set in.
"Can I make a selfish request?..." Hood asked in a nervous tone, unusual for her.
"Of course, anything" The Commander replied as the pair walked hand in hand towards the dorms of the base.
"Can we a-ah... Can I stay with you tonight?..." Hood asked as a hint of red dusted her cheeks.
"Um..." The Commander muttered, although they had admitted their feelings for each other and were extremely close, they'd never spent the night together.
"I-I'd like that" He responded, giving her hand a slight squeeze.
"Thank you" She softly replied as they continued on their way.
"First though... May we stop at my room so I can pick up a few things"
"Of course" The Commander replied, assuming she meant a toothbrush, sleeping clothes etc...
---Timeskip---
Once they reached the Commander's dorm he slipped off his jacket and got changed in the bathroom into much lighter clothes. Leaving the bathroom to allow Hood to change into whatever it was she'd picked up when they'd stopped at her dorm.
As he lay on the bed his mind flashed with memories of what he'd seen earlier, causing him to nervously shake his head from side to side as he rolled over. Now facing the bathroom door he slowly opened his eyes, his heart rate drastically increasing as he began to wonder what Hood was going to come out wearing...
A short moment later he heard the door begin to open and felt his jaw drop slightly as Hood came out wearing black set of lingerie.
"Ah..." The Commander muttered as he looked away slightly, feeling heat rush to his face as Hood walked over.
"W-What do think Commander?..." She asked shakily, changing from her usual confident tone to one of nervousness as the Commander slowly turned back and looked her over.
"Y-You look b-beautiful~" He responded as she walked over and slipped under the covers next to him.
"I'm g-glad you think so" She the spoke as she leaned her face forward and kissed him repeatedly.
He responded by kissing her back forcefully as he put his arms around her and pulled her close to him.
"I love you" She spoke in a break between them kissing, which was met with the Commander caressing her face lightly and whispering back.
"I love you too" Before continuing to kiss her...
