-Before the Great Calamity-
So it was a normal day at Zora's domain. The breeze was nice, the sun was bright. Not a cloud in the sky. The waterfalls were roaring and the lake was calm.
"Mom, look at this!" Crescent leaped into the lake with a flip and hit the water with a smooth dive.
"Good job, honey!" Crescent's mother smiled as she watched her daughter swim through the water, thinking of how similar she was to her sister.
"Hey mom! We're back!" And speaking of which, there she was. And with the princess as well.
"There you two are. Come sit, I've got snacks." Darlene and Mipha smiled and sat down next to Liv, each taking a plate of fish and setting it down on their laps.
"Mipha!" And there was Prince Sidon, running in with his long tail trailing behind him.
"Sidon! I thought you were staying with father." Mipha held her arms out for the young boy and let him fall into them.
"I wanted to stay with you." He pouted, curling his bottom lip.
"Aw, it's okay you can stay here." Mipha pet his head and looked over at Crescent getting out of the water. "Actually, have you met Crescent yet?" Sidon shook his head and looked over at the young midnight blue zora.
"Crescent," Liv started. "This is Sidon. Mipha's younger brother."
"Hi." Sidon and Crescent both said in unison.
"Do you wanna swim with me?" Crescent motioned towards the water and then looked back at Sidon.
"Sure!" Sidon's nervous expression quickly changed to a happy one.
Both children ran to the lake and jumped in, leaving Mipha, Darlene and Liv to talk for a while.
They raced and played, testing to see who was the better swimmer. They both had their strong spots, and found that they could actually help each other. So that's what they did for about an hour, until Sidon over heard Mipha talking.
"...And Princess Zelda actually came and spoke with me about the Champions! She asked if I wanted to pilot Vah Ruta!" Mipha seemed so happy talking about it. But Sidon was shocked.
"Sidon, what's wrong?" Crescent asked, getting out of the water to stand next to Sidon.
"I-" Sidon stopped himself and walked over to Mipha. "Mipha?"
"Yes Sidon?" She asked, looking at his worried face. "Is something wrong?"
"You're gonna be a champion?" Sidon looked at Liv and Darlene, whose smiles had faded.
"Yes, as soon as I have father's blessing." She looked a bit worried herself after saying that, and then stood up. "Maybe... I should do that now. I don't want to hold it off too long."
