The night was gloomier than usual because of the thunderstorm but I was no stranger to this. Everyone was downstairs making sure the electrical room wasn't flooded and the wires won't cut the whole system off or the city would be blinded for 12 hours. That could cause quite the catastrophe like the Purge.
Making my way to the dark office, I saw the safe right behind that ugly Minister's painting which was always replaced every year.
I hated his stupid face, I hated his boldness, I hate everything about him. A successful man who stepped on many lives just to have his Acrylic painting every day. What a waste of precious money that could have fed my neighborhood.
Lightning lit the spacious but empty room, and I cracked open the safe. There revealed the ancient wreath of victory. It was the most ancient artifact this agency had to offer and only the worthy was allowed to see it. But other than that, it was worth trillions to the right buyer, or the owner.
The lights started to turn back on, they must have fixed the electrical grid faster than I'd hoped. I packed the wreath inside my bag and went out the 123rd window. My paraglider popped out of my bag and I sailed up the sky.
