Chapter 17
The Final Battle
The Knights Inn Darkness were tearing through the dead and the Prince was perturbed. "Impossible," he shouted down from the window, "that army hasn't marched in a thousand years." No one heard him over the din of the dead and the gunshots from the Knights
He watched as the Knights carved their way to the door then closed the window. 'I need to get her out of here.' He turned to the bed only to find it empty. Chaeyoung came out of nowhere with a chair and swung at his head. He barely ducked under it and grabbed her wrist on the backswing. Chaeyoung kicked him in the stomach and he doubled over. She drove her elbow down on his head and he fell to the floor with a thud. She turned to run but he caught her by the ankle and tripped her, she tried to slow her fall but broke her nose as she hit the floor.
He got up and put his foot on her back. "Nice try." He twisted his foot and she groaned. "Get up, we're leaving."

Mina charged up the stairs and crashed through the double doors. Taehyung, Jihyo, Jimin and Jeongyeon were right behind her. "Upstairs, quickly."
They followed Mina who ran like a mad woman up the stairs to the fifth floor. She kicked the door in and ran into the room to find the Prince holding a nude Chaeyoung by the throat. "Take one more step, Vampire, and I'll tear her throat out." Mina stopped, the other four stood behind her with weapons drawn. "Drop your weapons."
Mina's naginata hit the ground first, the rest hesitatingly dropped theirs. The Prince started to build energy, Mina charged him while he was distracted but he shot out his hand and she fell to the ground as the blood in her veins boiled. The other vampires fell to their knees as well leaving only Jeongyeon standing. "Do you feel the blood boiling in your veins, Myoui? Painful, isn't it?" He closed his hand and Mina screamed, Chaeyoung struggled but his grip was strong. "Or is it that you came so close to rescuing your precious lover and failed."
Jeongyeon reached quickly for her pistol and drew on the Prince, but he used Chaeyoung as a human shield and she froze. He cleared the distance between them and hit her with a backhand across the face. Jeongyeon fell to the ground and her gun clacked across the floor.
The Prince suddenly froze, his eyes grew big. He dropped Chaeyoung and clutched at his head in pain. He fell backwards shouting obscenities and Dahyun stepped from the shadows. "You won't hurt my mom again."
Jeongyeon's eyes widened when she heard her voice. "Dahyun?" She stood up and ran to embrace her. "What are you doing here?" Dahyun held up her hand and stopped Jeongyeon. "I need to concentrate, you can thank me later."
Jackson screamed as Dahyun tore at the binds that kept the Prince within him. The fireplace lit up on it's own and four more witches and Margaret materialized into the room. Margaret saw her grand-daughter holding the Prince at bay. She beamed with pride as she and the other witches approached and surrounded the Prince. Between them and Dahyun they made a five point star around him. They started chanting while Margaret took Dahyun's place on the star.
The Prince moaned and fell onto his back. Dahyun ran to Jeongyeon and jumped into her arms. Jeongyeon embraced her, "How did you get here?"
"Grandma taught me how to walk through fire, cool huh?"
Jeongyeon didn't think that was very cool, though Dahyun had saved her. "I guess it as a good thing, then. You really saved me back there." She smiled at her daughter, 'no Nayeon's daughter', and ruffled her hair.
With the spell broken Mina got up and ran over to where Chaeyoung had fallen. She scooped her into her arms and held her close. Chaeyoung wrapped her arms around Mina's neck, "I knew you'd come for me."
