Love At First Sight

Chapter 2.

I know I can't have Colton but I feel like something just happened between us. I don't know, it might just be me but I seriously feel like there was something there. There was this connection that I've never felt with anybody before. He just makes me so happy and I'm head over heels for him.

By this time I was getting weird stares because I was making faces and laughing at myself while I was thinking of Colton. Typical me. The bell rang so I walk out with my face buried in my phone when all of a sudden I run into  somebody.

"Are you serious?! Again?!" We both say at the same time, when suddenly I recognize the voice. I look up and it's Colton.

"Oh sorry! I don't know why we keep running into each other like this." I say giggling while my face turns bright red.

"I wouldn't mind running into you all the time." He says looking at me and smiling. I just stand there like a deer in headlights. I'm speechless. He has a girlfriend, or did they break up?

"So where's your girlfriend?" I ask him looking off to the side.

"Brighton? We broke up yesterday so I'm having to take alternate routes through the halls so I don't run into her. You know how that is right!" he laughs as we start walking down the hall.

"Actually I don't. I've only had one boyfriend and that was back in like 7th grade." I say very shyly.

"Wait what?!" He says loudly stopping in the middle of the hall. "A girl such as beautiful as you has only had one boyfriend in her entire life and it was in 7th grade?" People started staring at this point. Partially because he was being so loud but partially because he was walking down the hall talking to the loser 11th grader that still has braces and not Brighton, the top notch model of Nebraska.

"I'm serious. Most people think I'm a loser because I don't talk that often and I'm the only girl in 11th grade that still has braces." I say continuing to walk down the hall to my next class.

"Oh yea you're that really good volleyball player that's a stuck up brat." Did he really just say that?! I could feel the tears coming so my first reaction was to run straight to the bathroom and that's exactly what I did. I hear Colton in the back, "wait Palmer I didn't mean it like that!" I don't care if he meant it like that or not, my heart just broke into a million pieces. I just wanted this day to end already.

I avoid Colton the rest of the day and I run as fast as I can to my car and I go straight home. I don't greet my family or even get a snack. I go straight to my room and I don't come out until it's time to go to school the next day.
