"Babe!" I called my boyfriend after entering his condo. I give him a kiss on cheek.
He was studying.
He looked at me, smiled and kissed my forehead... and looked at his notes again. Ang daming makakapal na libro ang nasa harapan na kaylangang pag-aralan.
I sighed.
He was studying for his board exam since it was near. He took law that's why he really need to study for him to pass it in just one take. Mahal ang board exam sa law kaya kaylangang pagsikapan para isahan na lang. Bawas gastos.
I placed the pizza on the table and opened it. I offered him one and he accepted it, eyes still on the paper.
I stood up and went to the veranda. Fresh air ang agad na sumalubong sa akin. I closed my eyes, remembering those days na hindi pa busy ang lahat.
I'm an Flight Attendant on Cebu Pacific and it's my day off kaya binisita ko muna sya sa condo nya. May dorm kami kung saan pulos flight attendant lahat ng nandoon. Kung papipiliin lang nga ako ay may gusto kong kasama si Matthew dito sa condo niya kaso malayo sa Airport, plus traffic. Masyadong importante ng oras para sa aming mga FA kaya doon ko nalang napiling manatili. Though, masaya naman doon.
Our first meeting was kinda awkward. I was working back then as a call center agent; he was one of the costumers. He was seeking for advice for students who have lack of focus on studying. I just gave him an answer, “Do not force your brain if it’s already tired, study if it does already have enough rest and avoid things that can capture your attention.” But what’s inside my brain was ‘Hindi ba uso ang google sa kaniya?’ after I let that advice he just laughed and turn the call off. Hindi man lang nagpasalamat.
Days have past and he called again but it was on my workmate’s and he was finding me dahil sa akin daw sya mas komportable na makipag-usap kahit isang beses lang naman iyon. He told me that he did what I told him and it was effective daw kaya pumasa sya sa exam and I felt relieved dahil kahit simple lang iyon, at least nakatulong. But there was only one thing that captured his attention and it was my voice.
He called and called and called until one night while we were talking, he asked me if I can join him on a dinner. Well, who am I to say no diba? I also want to meet him personally. He’s an interesting person at masaya siyang kausap. He sometimes throws a corny joke while on line that makes me laugh.
Everything went smooth and I felt comfortable with him. He started giving me flowers, chocolates and lovely stuffs every week. I felt something on my stomach when he confessed his feelings for me. I think I also like him.
He’s courting me for almost a year and a half. The day I resigned as a call center agent and decided to be a Flight Attendant, he was there, supporting me.
I feel insecure when I saw some flight attendants there. Masyado silang magaganda, talented, matangkad at pang-model ang datingan while me? Make up lang ang nagdadala sa akin. But during those times, he was there. He made me feel na maganda ako kahit anong anggulo, na I’m one of those gorgeous FA’s.
He was still on college and studying law. Wala sya during my interview dahil may exam siya ang I understand.
Natanggap ako sa Cebu Pacific Airlines Manila Based and he passed his exams. We both celebrated.
That day was the most special day of our life because finally, were in a relationship.
I was busy on my duty while he was busy on his studies. Hindi kami masyadong nagkikita kaya if may day off ako, we go on a date, road trip, mukbang or spend time together.
