The sun slowly made her way up above the mountains and into the room. She spreads her warmth.. filling up the room..and gently touches the faces of the lovers in bed.
Blaine slowly opened his eyes..and grinned. His lover, still sound asleep..innocent as a child, lying before him. He caressed her rosy pink cheeks..and gently stroked her long flowy brunette hair. Her freckles made her even more lovable. He moved forward and pecked her forehead.
Dalia rubbed her eyes and stared at Blaine. His blue eyes so calm and deep like the blue sea..wishing her " Good morning sweetheart. " She smiled and laid on his chest. Feeling his warm body and hearing his heartbeat. And Blaine with his arms around her..made her feel so safe to be there with him.
She hopped out of bed and tip toed to the bathroom. Bathe and brushed her teeth. She grabbed a simple tee with shorts and headed downstairs. She got the pan heated up and splashed some oil onto it and some bacon strips after. Blaine soon joined her wrappin his hands around her waist. They fed each other breakfast and talked about work.
And they were off to work. Dalia was a ballet instructor and Blaine was an engineer. He would fetch her to work and head to his office. When evening arrived he would return to her and have dinner out and talked about their day. At home, they would watch some tv and maybe some supper. And finally they were off to bed.
This was basically their daily routine for 4 years of their marriage.
Dalia was diagnosed with breast cancer at her late twenties. She was devastated. The nights Blaine spent wiping off her tears. The pain was the least of her worries..it was the fear of dying..leaving Blaine.. which made Dalia ache with pain. But Blaine never lost hope in his wife. He would make a point to go to all of her chemo sessions. To show her..she wasn't alone..that they were in this together.
He held her hand tight..staring into her olive green eyes..which were now filled with tears. She was in pain..but she never wanted to admit it. In just a month..Dalia had lost all her hair on her head. She had also gotten skinnier and weaker. Her once rosy cheeks were now sucken and pale.
Kids would look at Dalia and run away, some even laughed at her. People pointing fingers at her..just made her so frustrated. Dalia felt so insecure..till she decided not to leave their home unless it was chemotheraphy. But Blaine never cared about what others had to say. To him, Dalia was still the most beautiful girl in the world. He even shaved his head so Dalia wouldn't feel so bad about the way she looked.
He would hold her close to him and say :" Baby, why are you so beautiful? " " Ow stop it Blaine, i look horrible.. Stop lying to me..it's okay, i know im not going to last long anyway. " Dalia tried to keep a straight face. Blaine turned her face to face his. " Dalia, No matter what happens to you.. I will always love you no matter what, okay? You are the most confident kind hearted gorgeous girl i ever met. And never let cancer stop you from losing hope on yourself. " Dalia tried to smile and gave him a kiss on the cheek. " Thank you..for always being here..I love you too."
There were times of doubt and there were times of smiles. After her three years of struggle with cancer..Dalia was cured. The couple was happy. They finally could try to have a baby and start a family. After a year of trying, Dalia was excited to find she was carrying Blaine's baby girl.
Just four years after Ashley was born, she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Dalia felt so guilty..she hated the fact that her little girl would have to go through the pain she did a few years back. " I just cant do this anymore! What did our baby girl do to deserve this? " Dalia weeped. " Get a hold of yourself sweety. You gone through it..and survived didnt you? Have faith that Ashley will too. Don't ever lose sight of hope my dear, because that's when you will lose. "
Blaine held his wife's hand..and the other holdin his daughter's. " We will make it through..i know we will. " he whispered to himself.
