Chapter 1

Walking down the long hallway to my boss office, I had no idea what he could possibly want from me. He hardly acknowledges people let alone speaks to them so I can't help being nervous. I haven't done anything wrong so he wouldn't fire me right?!

Stopping in front of his door, after knocking three times I raised my fist to knock again when I heard a sharp 'come in'. Pushing the door open I step inside and greet.

"Good Morning sir". I greeted with my head slightly bent down of course I wouldn't want to be more nervous than I already am.

"'I would prefer maintaining eye contact while speaking to you miss Davis".

Lifting up my head slowly I meet his dark blue eyes, devoid of emotions as  usual. Sometimes I wonder if he is  human at all, although he is drop dead gorgeous with his very well defined torso, broad shoulders, smooth tanned skin...

"Mrs Davis!!" Wait what?
Oh right I forgot I was suppose to be listening to what he was saying and not checking him out Great! he probably thinks I'm a freak.

"Y-y-es sir" I stuttered
Great!! Way to go again he probably thinks am a much bigger freak

"A penny for your thoughts"
 
I bend my head slightly to hide my now red cheeks, he will definitely not want to know what I was thinking about.

"As I said earlier you would be accompanying me to lunch this afternoon to meet our client from tech industries, be ready by 12.30 on the dot, it is no news that I do not tolerate tardiness".

I nod understanding.

"Words Mrs Davis"

"Yes sir".

"Great, you are dismissed".

"Thank you sir".

Spinning on my heels I turn around and head towards the door on getting outside I released a short breath I didn't even know I was holding, well that's what happen when your being called into Mr Coleman office.

Now I have to go and prepare for the lunch I wouldn't want to be on his bad side. Making my way to the elevator I hear my name, turning back I'm faced with James.

Ladies and gentlemen let me introduce James...he is the next door neighbour kind of guy, blonde, medium height, kind and also very sweet plus he is very charming he kinda gets his way with most of the women in the office.

"Kim! Kim!!" James yells, running towards me.

"Woah slow down, what's the matter".

"I should be asking you that".

Confused I ask "why"?

"I just saw you coming out from Mr Coleman office, hope you aren't in trouble?"

"Trouble? I'm the good one around here if anyone is supposed to be getting in trouble it should be you not me."

"Sure" he says in a sarcastic tone.

"Hope nothing is the matter though" He asks in a worried tone.

"Nah, just accompanying him for lunch with some client".

"Oh good I wouldn't want my partner in crime to be gone just yet"

"Am not your partner in crime". I'm

"Yes you are". He argues

"No am not". I retort

"Hey guys" Stephanie greets while approaching us and there goes the third person in our group we usually all hang out together.

I feel am the third wheel though James definently has the 'hots' for her and I know she does too but doesn't want to admit it cause she's afraid of getting heartbroken by James who he is a huge player, but I have seen the way he looks at her, he doesn't look at her the same way he looks at other women but she's just to blind to notice well I will leave that to them.

James face immediately lightens up upon hearing her voice.

See what I was talking about!?!

"Hey steph" we both answer.

"Arent you guys coming for lunch I already saved some seats for you guys".

"Great, I just remembered I have to accompany Mr Coleman to a lunch meeting". I say quickly remembering.

"Hmmm Mr Coleman" she says while winking

"I told you he definitely has the hots for you".

According to her Mr Coleman has a "crush on me" which i highly doubt, because of that one time I accidentally spilled coffee on him and he didn't fire me whereas he fired his previous assistant it happened with, I wouldn't blame them though, the man is scary as fuck.

"No he doesn't"

"Yes he does"

"No he doesn't"

"Ok so why is did he tell you to accompany him" she asks.

"Cause am his Assistant" I reply in a duh tone.

"Yeah, whatever helps you sleeps at night". She playfully rolls her eyes

"Anyways I have to go, we all know how much he hates tardiness".
