I pushed open the school doors in a hurry, blonde hair trailing behind me. Once I reached several feet away from the school I zipped up my jacket, for some sort of warmth. The jacket wasn't much help on account of the Nike shorts I had on during gym class. There was only one way to explain how I was feeling right then, embarrassed. Oaken Garret, the overrated bad boy, decided that today would be a good day to point out my failed relationship with my previous boy friend. I can't- no won't- even say his name. "Ainsley! Ainsley, wait!" I heard a deep attractive voice say behind me. "Go away Oaken." My response was louder- and angrier- than I expected. "Look," the tall dark headed male I was currently infuriated with, reached a long arm out to force me to look at him. "I'm sorry, ok? I wasn't thinking." For a moment I stood there staring at the bright green eyes that were almost identical to my own, only his seemed so much more--intense. After gathering my thoughts in the right place, I finally spoke. "That's right, you never think do you? You always say the first thing that comes to your mind don't you? You think you can get away with pointing out my mistakes, can somehow make your troubles disappear." The streaming words poured from my mouth with so much force I'm surprised I didn't spit. He looked taken aback. "Ainsley, you're the same kid I've know since second grade, we're freshmen now, I've changed, you've changed, everyone changes Ain. Accept it." I stood there with a blank expression on my face, what he is he even talking about, I thought to myself. Oaken Garett is loved, adored, and showered with girls, I've never been one of those girls and I never will be. Sure, we may have known each other since second grade but it wasn't exactly as if we were best friends. I had enough to worry about, and Oaken Garret wasn't going to be any part of my problems.

Yes it's short I know, but I am mostly just writing for fun. I'm trying not to make it seem cliché, but keep in mind, before you say, "yeah right emily, who do you think you're kidding!" It's only the prologue and I am so excited to write again.lots of love,
