{Percy's POV}
Masks adorned with sequins and plastic jewels flashed around us. People in sparkly dresses danced, and busy conversations that sparked loud laughs cut through the music.
Piper, Nico, Leo, and Annabeth were with me. We hung around a corner near the drinks, and were dressed like normal teenagers would at a masquerade party.
"Someone remind me why I'm here." Nico said. He was wearing a dark suit, like most men at the party, and a dark blue mask that covered everything but his black eyes. He had picked a mask with the least sequins, but it still made him look like he was sprinkled with sparkles.
"Oh come on Nico! It's one party." Piper replied. She was wearing a purple dress, and a white mask. Piper thought the best way to get away from things- Camp Halfblood and Camp Jupiter- was to party your way out.
"Hey well, we're here. Might as well enjoy it." I announced. I was wearing a suit, like Nico, and a dark green mask.
I held out my hand to Annabeth, who was wearing a grey dress and a red mask. Man, she looked nice. She didn't usually dress up, but when she did people could've sworn she was a daughter of Aphrodite.
"May I have this dance?" I asked. A playful smile under my mask.
She rolled her eyes, which were the same vibrant color as her dress, and took my hand.
"Ugh you guys are such lovebirds." Leo said, leaning against the drink table. A bright red cup was in his hand, and he was wearing a white shirt with brown pants.
Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Nico smile.
Annabeth and I walked onto the dance floor, where people were slow dancing. We walked into the crowd, to the point where we were sure our friends couldn't see us.
"What's this about Fish Face?" Annabeth asked, as were dancing.
"Nothing. You just look nice," I replied "but you don't have to dress up for that." I said, a smirk on my face.
She punched me in the arm, which hurt more than you would think.
"You totally planned that line the entire time." She told me,laughing.
"Whattt?? Nah. Pick up lines just come easily to me." I announced, still dancing to the music.
"You're impossible." She said, her hands entwined around my neck.
"When have I ever not been?" I asked, as we danced into the night.
