Chasing Rose – Chapter 1
“You know, you should come out with us tonight, Rose” my co-worker James said.
“Oh no, I really shouldn’t, thank you though James”
“Oh come on Rose! You haven’t been out in what, four… five weeks? Please Rose, you need some fun in your life” I gave him an exasperated look as I had heard the same line from him every day since my father died.
“Ok, ok. Just this one night? Then I’ll stop harassing you” I gave him a light laugh in return and finally gave in. He just would not take no for an answer.
It wasn’t that I didn’t want to go out. I mean, sure it would be fun, but I had work to do. My work was very important to me, if I didn’t get my faxes finished or if I didn’t sort out which patients were the next day, I would stop at nothing to finish that.
When James asked if I wanted to go out, I wasn’t sure, I didn’t want to get myself hurt, but it was true; I hadn’t been out in ages.
So I said yes, but little did I know; that night would change my whole life forever.
