1)THE SHOT IN THE DARK

After a long day of work on finishing the paper works ,I  was finally able to take rest . I came home with my eyes soggy and my body so tired that I couldn't even move a muscle. I changed into my PJ's and jumped onto my bed to take a long undisturbed sleep. It was a starry night, I could hear the wind rustling near the window. The night was quite and peaceful. The coldness of the wind was even pleasureful. As soon as layed my head down at the pillow I fell asleep. A few hours later at midnight I heard screaming and crying sounds at the end of the alley way near my apartment. I thought it was just my hallucination or one of my weird dreams. A few minutes later everything went back to normal, the night was peaceful again.

THE NEXT MORNING;
I woke up hearing the siren sound of an ambulance. I was wondering why was an ambulance here early in the morning, "nahh nevermind maybe there is someone who met with an accident or there is an emergency!"I said that to myself . I somehow managed to pull myself out of the bed to get ready for work , I bathed , brushed my teeth , wore a tidy uniform grabbed some toast in hand ,took my bag and left the apartment. "Wait a min where is my car keys??!! Oh shoot it's inside my apartment, hmm should I go back to get it?! Nahh I will just call a cab today."

As I was waiting for my cab to arrive I saw my colleagues near the alley way. I was surprised to see them , I thought they were here to pick me up. I went to my bestfriend Aiden. He and me has been friends ever since we were kids. "Yo! Aid sup man? Wat brings u here?" He was literally shocked when he heard what I said . "Ash are you kidding me!" He frowned. I was super confused by what he asked. "Why? Did I ask something wrong?" I asked curiously trying to find out what wrongly did I ask. He sighed " I'm glad you are ok!" He said giving his sorrowful look at me. I was even more confused than before. Before I could ask what he was talking about my cab arrived. I patted his shoulders and took my leave to go to my office.

AT OFFICE:
"Great! Another day of working in this hell hole" I grinned. As soon as I entered the office everyone was staring at me till I reach my desk. I thought my uniform was kinda funny  but I couldn't care less. There were alot of files piled up on my table that has to be completed within today. I was completely stressed out. Probably you are wondering where I'm working ! I'm actually a FBI officer, I guess you guys already know it, anyways ,I needed caffeine to give strength for me finish these 12 files in a single day. I headed to cafeteria, and it started again everyone was staring at me , I kinda feel embarrassed to walk in the cafeteria. But luckily I saw my friend joshie sitting in the table with some of my other friends. I went there sat near Aiden. They were having a very serious discussion about a case . I thought it was nothing but a robbery case again, but that seemed serious. I pulled up myself to together and asked Aiden what they are talking about. He was giving me that shocking stare like everyone, I slapped his head" stop staring me like that and tell me what are you guys so serious about dumbass". "Wait a minute! You didn't know what is going on?????". " Don't confuse me even more and just say me what happened!". " Hmm! There was a murder at the end of the alleyway near your apartment! I thought you are the one who witnessed and informed the murder to the police and called the ambulance." I was so shocked , I was wondering if I did witness anything suspicious last night, I remembered that I heard strange screaming and crying noises from the end of the alleyway . I was paralysed , I didn't know that the weird screams I heard at night was real and not my hallucination. I called Aiden to talk about this privately near the gate of the cafe. He agreed and came with me. " Aiden I have something important to tell you". "What is it Ash? You know you can trust me!". My heart was beating fast I could still hear the sounds of screaming and crying in my head. "I-I heard screaming and crying sounds near the alleyway last night"I stammered. He wasn't shocked but he was in the position where he didn't know what to say. "Hmm! Seems your the witness of that murder here"." Y-Yah! M-Maybe!" I stammered again. He patted me on the head. " don't worry Ash we will find the guilty as soon as possible" . He gave me assuring look , which made me gain confidence. I heard my name being called out in the main office by our captain aka the boss. I was scared to go there cause he gives me chill vibes and always has that cold stare whenever I went to his cabin. Aiden was patting my shoulders assuring that nothing bad is gonna happen. I started to move forward with confidence physically but mentally I was scared as hell. I reached his office. I knocked. "COME IN!!" He said it coldly which sent shivers through my spines . I entered the room and I was shocked to see........
