"Here, let me get that for you"
I bite the inside of my cheek as he leaned across the table to wipe a spot of strawberry buttercream frosting from the corner of my mouth.
I blush as he pinches my cheek and close my eyes when I see his face inching towards mine. I had been dreaming about this moment for quite some time now. My heart was racing a hummingbird and halts as his lips touched mine.
A millisecond. That's how long the kiss lasted with McDreamy.
I wake up to my mother screaming. Unlike other sane people who get scared because of their parents screaming, I know when my mother screams, it is usually good news. Period.
"What's happened mum?" I ask or rather try to before she jumps on my bed and crushes my bones with her enthusiastic hug. Hulk might have taken more time than her to accomplish it.
"Ouch! What's with you woman? I told you I'll leave the house after I get a job. Why are you trying to kill me before that?" I scream.
"Oh shut up! Look what's here!"
She shoves a letter at me, who sends letters these days anyway? Could it possibly be my letter of acceptance at the Ambrosial restaurant by Andrew Moretti? But it was a little too early for that.
I scrunch my face as I opened the letter addressed to me.
"YOU'VE BEEN ACCEPTED! I'M SO PROUD OF YOU! MY BABY IS GOING TO BE A SOUS CHEF....."

So here's the thing, have you ever been frozen in time? It doesn't work like the way they show in movies where everyone and everything stops moving except you and your crush. Instead, you stop moving but everyone else continues. And that's exactly how I was. I was struck. I was literally on cloud nine, only the cloud wasn't moving.
I start tearing up. I? I've been accepted? I've been accepted to learn from THE Andrew Moretti? I GOT THE INTERNSHIP AT AMBROSIAL!!
I finally come out from my trance and start jumping on the bed with my mum, who was crying too. This time it was my turn to kill her with my hug.
"Thank you mum, thank you so much,"
"Oh darling," she says and kisses me, "You deserve it all. Can I now call Paul and tell him my daughter is going to be working in his restaurant?" I laugh with my tears, "Of course mum! You can tell the whole damn world if you wish to!"
Paul and my mother go way back. Both of them went to business school together and have been the best of friends ever since. He is the founder of Ambrosial, a Michelin star restaurant in Amsterdam. Paul may be the owner of Ambrosial, but the head chef Andrew Moretti is the one I'm crazy about. Nobody can make pasta like him. Nobody. He has won the best chef of the year two times and won Ambrosial a Michelin Star!
