The Maze ( H.S.)

One

There was about a week until Halloween, all houses decorated in scary things to scare the kids who would come up to the door and ask for candy, the wind felt cold to where you had to bring a sweater over your costume which annoyed you a bit but did it so you wouldn't freeze. I didn't really know how I felt about Halloween I mean I didn't dress up anymore or hand out candy because I'm not about that I just like to stay inside in my cozy pajamas sitting on the couch watching a horror movie eating snacks and candy till midnight. I regularly just didn't like going places because things that happen around where I lived during Halloween where weird so I avoided them.

Monday
I was sitting in class waiting for the bell to ring just so I could get out. 5 minuets later I heard the bell ring I stood up from my chair grabbing my bag putting it over my shoulders and walking out of the door, lunch was after that so I headed to the cafeteria. I stepped in looking for my friends, after about a couple seconds of scanning the room "Olivia!" I heard a thick Irish accent behind me I turned around "hey Nialler" I said "come we're sitting outside today" I followed behind him holding my lunch bag. Just as we stepped outside I saw all my friends sitting at a table "hey guys" I went up to them Niall already sitting down "sup" said Zayn "hey liv" followed by Chloe I sat down and opened up my bag. Liam was sitting in front of me throwing grapes in his mouth. About 10 minuets later the guy I've been waiting to see all day, curly brown hair, emerald green eyes, sharp jawline, perfection. Harry comes to sit down, he sits right beside me "hey babe" he says "hi haz" I say chuckling we weren't dating or anything but I had a crush on him and he liked to joke around with me. He was a very serious guy when it comes to serious stuff tho, it's kinda scary. "Hey guys I have an idea of what we should do tonight" says Liam mouth stuffed with grapes "yea?" Says harry "there's a new maze this Halloween and it's supposed to be like scary with people scaring you inside" I didn't really like going to scary things like that considering I don't like the things that happen on Halloween. "Yes we should definitely go to that!" Zayn said excitedly Chloe nodded, "sure I think that'd be fun" said Harry not really as excited as Zayn. "Um ok" I said finally "your gonna have fun trust me" said Liam, I nodded "ok we'll go at around six thirty" he said.

School ended about an hour ago, Harry drove me home and stayed with me while I did my homework. "Are you nervous about the maze" he asked breaking the silence while still scrolling on his phone. "Um a little" he chuckled "what" I say rolling my eyes "I'm excited to see u scream" he says laughing "harry stop" I say while laughing and joining in the fun. "I'm finished with my homework so I'm gonna get ready" I said "ok" he replied getting up "Ima go get a snack" he has come over many times and we're used to acting like we live in each other's houses so he'd go do anything he wanted, plus my mom never cared she was also never home. I only lived with my mom because I was an only child and my dad left us when I was seven. I was wearing a plain white shirt with a light and dark brown flannel and some high waisted jeans and white converse I put my hair into a high ponytail with some loose strands out then went downstairs to find Harry sitting in the living room watching a show eating potato chips. "I'm ready" I said making his head shoot up "oh ok let's go then" he replied going to the kitchen to put up the chips. I grabbed my phone and purse. He came back from the kitchen and held my back and led me out the door. We got in the car and drove to the maze. About a twenty minute drive later we got there, everyone was sitting down on some benches waiting for us. "Finally you guys show up" says Niall "chill it's six forty" I said "whatever" he replies "let's go!" Says Zayn. We all go to the entrance walking in. It was already starting to get dark out. "Should we split up?" Says Louis "no why would we split up in a maze!" Says Melissa "oh come on it could be like a challenge, whoever gets out first wins something" he said "I'm not walking around in this maze by myself Louis" I said "you're not gonna be by yourself we'll go in like groups of two" he says I shrug "I'll go with Olivia" says Harry "and I can go with Liam" says Niall "Chloe and I'll go together" Says Zayn "and I'll go with Melissa" Says Louis "alright let's start" Says Harry "alright see you guys later" says Niall. We were about 5 minuets into walking and turning directions, "this is gonna take so freakin long " Harry says "I know"I agree. He put his arm around me while we walked. Right when we turned to our left a guy in a skeleton mask came out from that way, I yelped and almost fell "oh my gosh!" I said Harry laughed I punched him lightly on his shoulder "I told you I was excited to see you get scared!" He says chuckling "shut up" I say laughing, I turned to see behind me the skeleton masked guy looking our direction still tilting his head it made me get a sick feeling in my stomach.
