Finding Skylar-Marie

Selena's POV
I was walking down the street going home because I had just gotten Starbucks. As I was walking I heard whimpering so I followed the sound. I found out the sound was coming from this shed like thing in the alley. I got down on my knees and crawled to the entrance when I looked inside I saw a little girl curled up in a ball crying.

I felt so bad for her but I was also wondering where her parents were. "Hey sweetheart are you okay?" I asked softly as to not scare her but I guess the didn't work because she jumped up startled and went further into the shed. "It's okay little one I'm not gonna hurt you, I just wanna see if you're okay." I said trying to get her to come out. "Can you come out so that I can see you sweetheart? I promise I won't hurt you." I said. Eventually she came out holding a very bright flash light.

She was the most adorable little girl I had ever seen. She had light brown hair and brown eyes. She looked to be about 2 or 3 years old. "Where are your parents angel?" I asked, she looked down. "I don't have parents because my daddy killed my mommy then the men in blue tooked him way and they tooked me to the orphanage. But I can't go to the orphanage because they kicked me out." She explained to me why they kicked her out and I felt sorry for her so I did what I thought I should do in this situation.

"I'll adopt you angel and I'll make sure you have the best life ever." I said through tears. "You adopt me and I be you baby forever?" She asked with confusion written all over her face. "Yes angel, you'll be my baby forever." I said and that seemed to change her opinion of me. She ran and hugged me as tight as she could it was adorable. I picked her up and asked her to show me where the orphanage was. When we arrived I walked inside with her on my hip.

I saw a really old woman sitting at a desk in what I'm guessing is the front lobby. "Hello how may I help you today?" She asked not looking up from her computer. "Yes I would like to adopt..." I paused because I just realized I don't know her name. "Hey what's your name sweetheart?" I asked whispering in her ear. "My name is Skylar-Marie." She whispered back. "I would like to adopt Skylar-Marie." After I said that the woman immediately looked up and was surprised to see me. "Y-yes miss Gomez I will get the paperwork right away." She said in a hurry and ran off to get it.

She handed me the paperwork and I signed it Skylar-Marie is now Skylar-Marie Gomez. I needed to get some clothes for Skylar so I went home to get my car. I put her in the back seat of my car and make sure the seat belt is tight but not too tight. I get in and we drive to target.

1 hour later

We are home now and I got her a car seat and some clothes. When we get home I run her a bubble bath. After I wash her I let her play with the soap and bath toys for a few minutes while I pick out some pajamas. I get her dressed and we spend tha rest of the night watching movies. "Skylar I have to have your room decorated so is it okay if you sleep with me?" I asked making sure she's okay with it. "Yes mommy I sleep with you." She said I nodded and I asked her to pick out another movie. She picks out princess protection program and pointed to me on the cover. "Mommy dats you." She said smiling. "Yes baby that's me you're so smart." I said that made her blush and giggle. After the movie I could see Skylar getting tired. "Okay munchkin time for bed," I said picking her up she nodded and rested her head on my shoulder. I put her in my bed then I laid down and she snuggled up to me. I self consciously played with her hair to help her go to sleep. Then I fell a sleep with a smile on my face.
