My muggle parents dropped me off at the overcrowded train station and I was very hesitant to actually leave them, but the thought of the magical world I am now a part of intrigued me far too much to miss this opportunity. I was broken from my thoughts when my mother started her usual routine of panic whenever I have to leave her, whether it be for a night or about 5 minutes.

"Now Y/n are you sure you have absolutely everything you need? If not then you can always go next year-"

I cut her off mid ramble "Mama you know that's not how it works. Plus I know I have everything because you made me check at least six times before we left! You know I would love to stay with you but I can't just miss a year of school because I may have forgotten a textbook or something!"

"I know, I just worry and you know how much your Papa and I will miss you. You're the last kid we have left at home!"

It was true, I completely understood why she was so upset. I have two older siblings Lara and Kirk, but they both live on their own because they are both in university now.

"I know Mama but we will call every night and I will come home for the holidays!" I was really trying to console her because I hate seeing her sad. Luckily Papa stepped in to change the sad mood.

"Don't worry dear, I'm sure she will be fine and I know we will be too. It's not as if she's being wiped off the face of the earth!" I was glad when his comment earned a chuckle from my mother. But also a slap on his chest.

"Don't say such things! And yes I am sure you will be alright Y/n, I trust you I'm just nervous is all. I love you!" Mother sweetly told me.

She pulled me into a very sincere embrace and gave me a kiss on my forehead too. Then Papa stepped forward and gave me one of his bone crushing hugs, that I like to call Papa Bear hugs. They may neglect me of my basic right of being able to breathe but they are also the most comforting thing in the world. We pulled away and they sent me one more smile before having to head home because the train would be arriving in about 10 minutes.

It was only after they had been completely engulfed by the crowd of bustling Londoners like myself, did I realise that I had no clue how to get to platform 9 3/4's. I had pondered on the thought of asking one of the train guards but soon came to the conclusion that it would probably be utterly pointless. I was almost about to give up and attempt to catch up with my parents, until I saw a middle aged red headed woman briskly walking along the platform with her children that had the same bright red hair as her. I immediately noticed there piled up trolleys and the owls that perched upon them, in cages. I knew they were wizards and hurriedly pushed my own trolley and owl towards the family. I didn't want to suddenly introduce myself and ask for directions so I stood a few feet away and observed there actions.

I was absolutely petrified when I saw them take turns running into the brick pillar in the centre of the platform. I covered my eyes preparing for them to hurt themselves badly but was shocked when I saw them each disappear into thin air. I approached the pillar that they had all just vanished from and followed their exact movements. I closed my eyes, preparing to somehow fail and end up piled on the floor with a concussion but soon opened them when I heard a train whistle in front of me. I had travelled to a completely new and separate platform. A glistening red train seemed as if it was calling my name and I took a few more steps towards it, whilst still pushing my trolley of items along and admired its beauty. I looked around me and saw many parents and even more children. Some seemed as perplexed as I was and others who looked older, were smiling and greeting their friends. I noticed that children began to get on the train after handing their luggage over to the train guards. I did the same and took in a breath before stepping onto the ruby, velvet carpet that lined the train floor. I was actually slightly nervous to choose a carriage but decided to mask my insecurity with confidence and skipped a few carriages before opening the door to one that held two boys, that looked my age.

"Hello I'm Y/n Rose. Would you mind if I sit here?"

The brown haired one with silver rimmed glasses answered me.

"Of course you can, I only just sat down myself. I'm Harry Potter!" He exclaimed cheerily whilst sticking his hand out.

"Nice to meet you Harry!" I replied sincerely. "Oh it's you!" I said when I saw the familiar red headed boy opposite us. He seemed slightly confused by my words so I quickly explained.

"Oh sorry! I saw you and your family running through the wall and that's how I knew how to get here. So thank you!"

He smiled and said "Your welcome I guess. I'm Ron, Ron Weasley!"

From that point we made chatter quite easily and all decided we would be the best of friends, little did I know that we couldn't of been more right!
