Taylor POV-
"You ever thought about having a career in singing?"
Even though I have thought about having a career in singing, I shook my head 'no' without turning around to look at who was talking to me. In my head all I could think about was what Selena would be telling me if she was here.
'Stop answering to that stranger! You don't even know who they are! ...Unless you do, but then that would just be weird...you don't know them right?'
"You should. You're really good."
This time I said something, since I didn't want to nod my head again.
"Well thank you. Now, come to think of it, I have been thinking about it. My friends told me I should as well, but I always thought I sucked at singing."
"Well, you don't. Wait...Taylor? Taylor Lockhart?"
I froze at the mention of my name. I still hadn't turned around, which meant that I probably knew this person. I turned around and slowly made myself face the person. Once I made eye contact with the person, a bunch of memories came back, flooding my head.
"Riley?"
"I haven't seen you in forever. What happened to you?"
"Nothing happened. Selena, Eleanor, and I just moved here from the states."
"London's changed you. The states?"
"Only you Riley. The only one that has told me I've changed. What about you? What brings you to Europe?"
"Wanted to go to Ireland. Apparently I have family there. Just thought I'd go other places in Europe as well. Never thought I'd run into you though."
"I didn't think I'd see you either. Actually I didn't think I'd ever see you again."
"I'm really sorry. How many times do I have to tell you? Is there anyway I can make it up to you?"
"Maybe. I actually miss you, and a lot more than I thought I would."
"That's a good sign. Let's go get some coffee or something."
I smiled up at Riley and he smiled back. I got up and made my way towards him. He started walking once I was next to him, and he took my hand in his like he used to. I looked down at our hands, then back up to him. I quickly averted my gaze away from his face and looked at the ground.
I was thinking about music, and the songs I used to listen to. Like One Direction and Taylor Swift. I used to love their music, and now I rarely listen to them. I smiled to myself, still looking at the ground and at my feet. When I thought about that, it reminded me of a One Direction song. What Makes You Beautiful, I think it was called. The line: 'But when you smile at the ground, it ain't hard to tell', sounded exactly like what I was doing right then. Smiling at the ground.
Riley pulled me out of my thoughts by telling me that we were at Starbucks. Selena didn't work at this one, which I thought was a good thing. I didn't need her yelling at Riley, at least not yet. He pulled me inside and had me sit down at a table next to one of the windows, while he went to go get our drinks. He came back and set my cup down in front of me. I took a sip, immeadiately recognizing it as hot chocolate, the drink I used to share with Riley.
"Hot chocolate?"
"We used to always get hot chocolate. I was thinking you haven't had it since 2009."
"I haven't...I forgot how good it tastes."
"You really tried to forget everything, didn't you? You tried to let everything between us go, right?"
