During an akuma attack, Ladybug and Chat Noir were battling an akumatised villain who was growing stronger by the minute. Around them, the city was collapsing and civilians were running for shelter.
"Chat Noir! I think the akumatised object is in his left fist!" Ladybug yelled.
Taking in this information, Chat Noir proceeded to call upon his cataclysm. However, before he could, the villain released a repulsor which was slicing through the air towards the kitten.
Spotting the beam first, Ladybug started sprinted towards Chat as fast as her little legs could carry her.
"LOOK OUT!"
Since Chat was distracted and confused by his Lady's shouts, he didn't notice the danger which was heading straight for the centre of his chest.
Ladybug only had one option. Without hesitation, she dived in front of her kitty, taking the force of the beam. The impact flew her into Chat, knocking them both down and giving them whiplash.
Crashing into the floor, they rolled over and over again before finally coming to a stop. After, they found themselves in a very awkward position, as Ladybug laid on her back with Chat on top of her. The black cat had his hand on her head and was clutching her waist which helped reduce the blow of the fall.
It's not as if they hadn't been in this position before but this time it was different. Instead of Chat Noir giving his bug a wink or cheeky grin, he simply forced a smile and began to get up from the position that they had found themselves in. Than instead of Ladybug rolling her eyes unamused, she felt almost heartbroken at the sudden change and her eyes began to fill with salty tears.
Chat had only managed to untangle himself when he turned his head to the side and was about to begin to stand up.
Ladybug felt a wave of sadness wash over her as her mind tried to discover why she felt this way.
Was is it because she missed the way he used to call her by her nickname? Was it because he looked at her differently? Was it because he didn't love her anymore?
Suddenly, Ladybug reached up and forced Chat to look at her. She had no idea why she did this. It happened almost subconsciously.
Both of them where as confused as the other. They both stared at each other in silence. Time seemed to have stood still. Ladybug could hear Chat's heart beating uncontrollably while she blushed as bright as her red costume. She wanted this... Whatever this was... She wanted it and he wanted it too!
As tears rolled down Ladybugs cheeks, Chat carefully and cautiously wiped them away. Quickly because he still had claws. Ladybug was trembling at the small gesture and he noticed. Trying to sedate her, Chat took her hands and gently squeezed them to remind her that everything was going to be okay. This would change their relationship and partnership forever.
No words needed to be spoken. They both knew what the other wanted.
Chat Noir thought he was dreaming as Ladybug sweetly smiled at him, giving him the permission he needed.
Lowering his head slowly, Chat Noir closed his eyes and tried to control his breathing.
Finally, their lips met and they held each other close. They could no longer hear the screams that echoed the city. They never wanted this moment to end.
Breaking apart, the two stared into each other's gentle eyes lovingly. Chat had a love sick smile plastered across his face and Ladybug couldn't help but giggle.
She loved him....
She loved him with all her heart.
