Where I'm From

I am from a mother with problems,
From a dad with issues
I am from my grandmother's care,
To my great cousins, Aunts, and uncles
I am from heartbreak, sadness
Rejection, and death.

I am from the deepest depths of the ocean
And the darkest points in caves
I am from very high times
And the very low times.

I am from the country
to the city, then back
I am from the people who love me for me,
And from the people that want me to change.

I am from the scared times
And the just give up times
I am from the innocent child
To the broken mirror child.

I am from the fun times
To the not so good times
From the everything is okay
To the everything is terrible.

I am from the bathroom floor
And not wanting to leave my room
To the "family fun times"
And being able to see my sister and brother.

I am from the people who didn't see me
To the people who wants me to be perfect
I am from the people who have no expectations for me
To the people who pushed me until I wanted to give up.

I am from the girl that wants to be a superhero
To a girl that wants to be invisible to everyone
From the girl that had a lot of faith in everything
To the girl with no faith in the human species.

I am from the house that smells like freshly baked cookies
To the smell of the plain house smell.
From being a really bad dork
To trying to make my own social group.

From the person that is good as a trained puppy
To a person who is trying to make my own way
From boom of a loud voice
To the silent tap tap of a pen on a desk.

I am from a mom who really cares about me
And a dad who would do anything for me
From people I knew loved me, and the people I knew didn't
To the people who I really have no idea.

I am from a lot of messed up places
From a really messed up childhood,
But, not many people know this
And yet they still treat me differently
Like I don't belong here, but I just ignore them.

The End.
