The Quarter Quarry was an arcade that's been here for as long as I could remember. When I was little my mom used to take me here, trying to save herself from participating in any sort of sports activity. At least my dad and I shared that bond. My friends here were Daniel a short fused, vertically challenged guy with fiery red hair, Sam, a heavy guy who always wore game related t-shirts and a worn out pale green jacket, he was the hardest to beat and always brought a crazy amount of quarters, and then there was Seven, just an inch shorter than me which bothered him, sharp black hair that stuck out from the front, slender eyes that he took advantage of to intimidate arcade challengers, and he usually wore a white t-shirt with a zipped down speed suit which he tied the sleeves at his waist, it was his uniform from the mechanic shop he worked at. His actual name was Seph but he earned his nickname by claiming the top seven high scores on every machine with leaderboards a few years back, the arcade was a lot smaller back then though.
Without looking too far, I found Seven and Daniel shooting it out on time crisis. To my surprise Arsen was standing by rooting for Daniel, probably because he already knew how smug Seven was when he won.
"Hey guys!" I leaned against Seven's back, peering over his shoulder but he knew I was just trying to throw him off balance.
"@!*#, Clover get off!" he cursed.
"Hahah, fine" I twirled off and faced Arsen who was now giving me a thumbs up for my actions. "Hey Arsen, what are you doing here today? Twice in one month? You must have gotten a bonus this week." Unlike the others who freely spent their money at the arcade, Arsen saved most of his money hoping to get a decent amount to start college with. It seemed a bit early to me, but college was only 2 years away.
"Nah, besides it's free to watch. These two provide enough entertainment as it is. Sam went to get some food if you were curious."
"Oh, right thanks. So what's up?" I asked
"What took you so long to get here anyways, I was just about to leave." Arsen inquired.
"I went to check out the new Cafe Madeleine" my smile glowed, and Arsen seemed to notice, his eyes falling down for the first time and a smile slapped itself on his face.
"Let me guess, you bought an edible dress from this cafe?" he kneeled down and lifted a portion of the flowing skirt to notice the frilly white trim. Teasingly he bit the fabric. "Ugh, it tastes horrible. You should get a refund." he looked at me with raised brows and a smile to go with his sarcastic comment.
"Ha. Ha. Now let go." I placed my foot on his shoulder and kicked him off. The fall was too short for him to regain his balance and he ended up falling onto Seven who wasn't too pleased with the immediate death screen that followed.
"What the he!%, you guys!" his voiced slurred with anger and turned around with his intimidating glare to scold us further. What he saw must have been funny because his expression quickly faded into a hestitant smile. "Oh my gosh Clover, are you wearing a dress?! Ha! And it's even pink, this is too good!" Daniel quickly turned around with a disbelieving look on his face in response to Seven's words.
"Whoa, you kind of look like a girl now." Daniel commented, his pale white skin giving away a faint blush.
