If you don't understand about Their Grandma let me explain......
So their Grandma Died when April and May were 5 and when Mike was 10. All they remember was their mom(she isn't in the story until later) Telling them that their Grandma died because she fell down the stairs and had a broken leg and back. While April was talking to her.....her grandma was telling her how she died....

April: what is it??
Grandma: I didn't actually die from falling off the stairs

April: what do you mean??
Grandma: I was alive when I fell down the stairs...
April: So your Telling me that you died when you got to the hospital??
Grandma: No-I died bc of suffocating..... someone suffocated me
April: well do you know who it was??
Grandma: No...I was sleep that when I heard the door open and I turned to look then everything went black and I was here
April: What- This is all to much and confusing
Grandma: Yes that's why you and Mike will have to find whoever did this and get answers so my spirit can sleep
April:Why just me and Mike
Grandma: Because May will take it to far and stress her own self out and end up in jail for murder
April: True! Okay I won't disappoint you
Grandma: Also, you will be the only one that can see me so don't embarrass yourself
April: Okay grandma.....
