Richie's Journal

It has been a few months since I was crowned king. They don't seem to need me as much as they did my dad. While they do their important adult meetings, I talk with Eddie, who seems to tolerate me a tad now. He still calls me "Your Highness" even though I have told him many times to call me Richie.

When the adults had their boring meeting, I made Eddie play hide-and-seek with me. He acted like he didn't want to, but I think he secretly liked it. He probably liked playing hide-and-seek here better, because we have more places to hide in my big castle.

Since Eds is so small, he can fit into places that I can't. I even found him hiding in the secret compartment behind my family's tapestry. I wouldn't have thought that he would go there, because it's dirty and full of cobwebs. I found him when he giggled, probably thinking that I would never find him.

When I finally found him, he was happy that he had done so well, and was laughing. His smile made me smile, since he doesn't do it very often. He tries to be the most serious kid my age, and usually is. Sometimes, when we're by ourselves, he stops being so serious and starts acting like a kid.

When he's acting like a kid, and he's laughing, it's incredibly adorable. Why does Eddie have to be like that. And if I wasn't supposed to be king, I would want to court him. I mean, there's nothing wrong with me liking him right? It's just like if I liked a girl, except he's a boy.

Eddie's Journal

I like King Richie more now, because I have gotten used to the obnoxious things he does. He still makes me want to scream, but less now.

There's something that I'm not telling the truth about though. I tell him to stop calling me Eds, because I say it's annoying, but I quite like it. It makes me feel special, because he notices me.

Dad says I have to call King Richie "Your Highness" because I need to respect him. I call him that, since I still don't know him well enough to call him by his name. King Richie still insists for me to call him Richie, even though I told him I can't.

While we were playing hide-and-seek, I hid in a small compartment behind a tapestry of King Richie's family. Even though it was covered in cobwebs, I still hid there. The only reason he found me was because I giggled to myself, unaware that he was close by.

If I'm being honest, I kind of like playing with King Richie, but I'd never give him the pleasure of hearing me say that. If he heard me say that, he'd never let me live it down. He would just keep bothering me, and bothering me, saying that I like him. Which I don't, even if he has gorgeous brown eyes, and a wonderful smile.

I hope that he will be less annoying, because I do not want to be his advisor if all he's going to do is make jokes. If he does keep making all those jokes, I will do something I can't write about, in case one of the guards looks through here. Just saying, what I would do would probably get me thrown in jail.
