"Darling, come down here. You have some mail," I heard my mother call from downstairs. "I'm coming," I responded as I closed my book, grabbed my slippers and headed downstairs. As I entered the sitting room where my mother was she looked like she could have a stroke from how jittery she looked. "Look at what you got!" She held up an envelope that was addressed to me and had the Hogwarts wax seal. I knew exactly what that letter was and I would be lying if I said I wasn't thrilled to be receiving it. However I knew what this meant. My cousin should be attending too. I don't know if I could face him knowing what my father did to his, or if the students would actually accept me. My thoughts were interrupted as my mother said, "Well go on, open it love."
And so I did.I couldn't help but feel both elated and dread. I looked up at my mum and her eyes looked glossy from the tears that were about to fall.
"Oh here come the water works," I said and rolled my eyes in a playful manner. "Oh shut it Lilith" she said and hugged me. "Your father will be so proud when he hears the news," she said and my moon instantly fell. "Oh please, he will absolutely take advantage of the situation and will try to make me his puppet," I snapped and saw how mum's face fell.
"Don't say that, at the end of the day he's still your father Lilith," mum said, but deep down she knew I was right. I wonder if mum has stayed with my pathetic excuse of a father out of actual love or fear for our safety. I believe it's the latter. Who in their right mind would stay with someone so evil and disgusting as my father, someone who sold his own family to a crazy tyrant? Mum has never told me the full story because she's either too scared or father brainwashed her into believing his lies, however rumors spread like diseases. Specially in the Wizarding world.
"Any who my love, we should go shopping for all the supplies you'll need for this term. Should we ask Narcisa if young Draco already got his supplies or we could go together," said with a smile and glint in her eye.
I groaned and she giggled at my reaction. "Oh come on love, little Draco isn't so bad, you guys used to be thick as thieves until you started ignoring him. You know I ever understood why you stopped going over to his house and bringing him here," my mom said as she got up and started walking in to the kitchen. I got up from my seat and trailed behind her. I think she forgets I was eavesdropping on their conversation with Lucius and Narcissa. "Mum, honestly I don't know either. People change," she gave me a look that said really "And not to mention he teases me all the time ever since he started hanging out with Gregory and Vincent. And let's not forget stupid little Pansy Parkinson, I ha-" I was interrupted by mum. "Now now, we don't say that you know that. Besides my little pumpkin pie, he's not so bad, maybe he''s upset at you for ending your friendship and misses you, you know what his father is like and you were the only one he ever got along with, you guys were practically raised together," she tried reasoning with me. Don't get me wrong I feel bad for the poor kid but why is he taking his unresolved trauma out on me. I can tolerate him but sometimes he can have his wand in a knot and make my life miserable. I do notice however that he's tolerable when it's just us two but once his little bodyguards are near he could be insufferable. He doesn't insult or hurt me in any way but nothing gets away from him.
"Okay fine mum, I'll try but only because he'll probably be the only kid to actually talk to me," I whispered but mum heard me. "Oh my precious Lilith, I know that your fathers actions have affected you greatly. And I'm sorry for that, but that's the way things have to be in this family. I can't risk You-Know-Who harming you in anyway. I wish things would be different but think of this as a new adventure. You'll be away from your father for most of the year and you'll get to know people outside of our social circle and make friends," she hugged me tightly as I let a few tears fall. This had been the first time in my eleven years of living that she said something like this about father that didn't try to make him out as a saint. "I love you mum," I said and returned the hug. "Love you too my darling," she replied.

"Hello Victoria, hi my darling Lilith," Miss Narcissa greeted my mum and I and she embraced me in a hug. I've always loved her, Lucius on the other hand, not so much. Which is why I'm grateful he wasn't here.
Mum and I had just gotten my wand which was
Aspen wood with a unicorn hair core, 12 ¼" and unbending flexibility.
My mom let me go inside by myself since she wanted me to "have the full magical experience" and I'm glad she did, however as soon as I entered Ollivanders Wand Shop I noticed Mr. Ollivander was cleaning up some broken glass and some wands from the floor however he stopped as soon as he recognized me and he said that my cousin had been here earlier. It shocked me nonetheless. Harry was near. I decided to keep that information to myself after I left the shop.
After mum and Narcissa had gotten Draco and I all of our materials they let us choose a pet to take to Hogwarts. I choose a beautiful grey Maine Coon kitty and Draco ended up choosing a beautiful black owl.
It was getting late and we decided it was time to go home and get packing. Narcissa told mum that we would meet at the Hogwarts express and Draco and I could sit together. I saw the little brat smirk and he caught me rolling my eyes at him and stuck his tongue out at me.~~~~~
