It was a cold day, that was all I remembered of it apart from the pain I felt in my head as I collapsed against the corner of a metal shutter, then darkness.

I could hear the beeps, a steady rhythm 1, 2, 1, 2 over and over again until my ears had enough and blocked it out completely, only footsteps could be heard then, and the sound of a soft snoring from a person I couldn't see. My eyes refused to open no matter how much they were burning, and my body refused to move no matter how hard I tried to through myself into a sitting position. It was like I was paralysed, tortured by the sounds of those beeps because no matter how much I blocked them out, they'd just return in a minute or two again, no escape, trapped in a cage made of my own flesh.

Hey guys, this is a story I've had on my mind for ages and I thought now with the Covid pandemic, it would be a good time to put it to paper.
thanks
