Wuthering Heights is a wild, passionate story of the intense and almost demonic love between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, a foundling adopted by Catherine's father. After Mr Earnshaw's death, Heathcliff is bullied and humiliated by Catherine's brother Hindley and wrongly believing that his love for Catherine is not reciprocated, leaves Wuthering Heights, only to return years later as a wealthy and polished man. He proceeds to exact terrible revenge for his former miseries. (Amazon)
My thoughts-
This is one of my favourite classic novels. I have no idea why, but I just love this book. This is my third time reading it, and I enjoyed coming back to meet Catherine and Heathcliff in their world again. I always wish that Catherine and Heathcliff got together instead of with Edgar. I don't like him very much, to be honest. I loved how the characters were designed, and how the story flipped back and forth from the current time, and from the story of the time period before.
