Note: The story will pick up in Chapter 2. Please bear this long and boring chapter. It'll be just the introduction for the main characters.

Chapter 1:
It all started on a typical Friday night. I was on my bed, doing my homework. I was never really a fan of Maths but I had nothing else better to do. I frowned at the question before me and bit my pencil. Calculus and I never really got along, I guess.
Then my phone rang, buzzing in my pocket. I took it out and saw my best friend's name on the screen. My eyebrows furrowed. It was 2 a.m. in the morning! What the hell does Luke have this time? Debating whether to answer the phone, I decided to be the nice guy and begrudgingly accepted it, bringing the phone to my ear.
"Hello?" I answered, irked. I regretted my decision when I heard loud music in he background. I could hear laughters, shrieks, the movements of people dancing. I rolled my eyes. He was at a party. Of course.
"Hello?" I called again. "Luke?" I asked. Then I heard heavy breathings and a hoarse voice, "Ellie?"
"Luke? Is that you?" I questioned, worry plastered all over my face. Why was he calling? Was there any conflict? I sighed. For a moment, I thought there wasn't any problem until I heard a hiccup and a drunken chuckle.
Oh no.
"Elliiiiie?" He slurred my name. I frowned at his voice. "You're drunk," I stated. I never actually liked drunk people, that's why I never drink. I don't want myself to be the person I hate. .Grimacing at his state, a question suddenly came to my mind. Where was he and how does he get back home?
"Ellie! Ellie!" he suddenly shouted urgently. I had the urge to grunt out loud but I stifled it. "What?" I asked annoyed.
"I need to pee," he whispered as if it was his top secret and then he started making weird undistinguishable sounds. I had to drop my phone inches away from my poor endangered ear. I rolled my eyes and bit my lip.
"Shut up, Luke!" I admonished for in which he followed."Do you have a ride home?" I asked seriously. I hoped he would answer me properly.
All hopes faded away when I heard him burp blatantly. "It's coming out, Ellie! What do I do! I... I need to pee!" his voice was overly exaggerated. I rubbed my temple, sighing in frustration. I needed to know where he was and get him. If anything happens to him, I could somehow be responsible for it since he called me.
"Where. Are. You?" I asked, pausing after every word. He coughed and cleared his throat. I could definitely feel him smiling. "Miranda's party!" he exclaimed, all his worry about his exploding bladder vanished. Finally, a proper answer! I sighed once more, this time in relief. I celebrated too soon because before I could even utter a word, he hung up. Great.
I got out of bed, calling Viola, my other best friend, and she picked up after the fifth ring. "Seriously Ellie? At 2.30 in the morning?" her voice was husky and her tone was filled with every hint of sarcasm.
I had no time to waste. I needed to be there before Luke makes a complete fool out of himself. "I can explain."
"Oh, of course," she exaggerated. "Start from the very beginning! Start from how you woke up today. No wait, you can start from when Adam and Eve were born! I'm all ears, babe!" sometimes, her sarcasm goes way overboard but I couldn't blame her. I'm a big fan of sleeping and if someone took it it away from me, I would definitely not like an iota of it. So I explained to her everything, ommiting her sarcastic request about Adam and Eve, and asked her where Miranda lived, to which she enlightened me with her answer and offered to come with me, which I accepted thankfully.
