"happy birthday, chaemin!" my parents and relatives greeted.

i looked up to all of them with a cheeky smile. "thank you!"

mom then stepped forward and kneeled down to me, letting me wear a pretty bracelet.

"that's my gift!" she said and ruffled my hair.

i lifted up my little arm to get a better view of the accessory.

"wow" my eyes glittered.

"come on, let's go eat mom's special curry for you!" dad held my small hand in his large ones.

when i heard my favorite homemade food made by mom, i beamed in joy.

and that is how we celebrated my tenth birthday.

we were just having our quiet dinner when dad spoke up.

"since you're sixteen now, we think that you're responsible enough to take care of yourself."

i looked up at them with furrowed brows.

"we enrolled you to a highschool just close by." mom said with a small smile.

i then gasped, "y-you mean.. i can go to a real school now?! to a building?!"

they both chuckled at my excitement & nodded.

i can finally get out the damn house.

i finished my morning subjects & it's finally lunch time. unfortunately, i left my lunch. someone please bitch slap me.

i was walking around the campus when a boy caught my eye.

i went over to him. maybe it's finally time to make some friends.

"hi there." i greeted & sat beside him.

i was nervous and i'm afraid that i might say something wrong.

"you look like someone who probably have the whole class as their best friend." i awkwardly stated.

"why are you alone here?" i decided to ask.

i then got embarrassed when he didn't answer.

"hello??" i waved my hand infront of him.

he let out a sigh & then gave me a very cold look. "i like to be alone. so please leave."

i was quite shocked at his response. he looks so friendly─ damn, looks can be so deceiving.

i shot him a disapproving look, "i don't know how to approach people, but i sure know that is not very nice."
