The night was cold, and there was a light mist of rain blowing softly in the wind. Gianna, a twenty-four year old woman found herself rummaging through her dresser in her bedroom. She struggled to find family heirloom she had stolen from her aunt Tara early in the day, about around noon. The heirloom belonged to her beloved mother; Addilyn who had recently passed away from stage four uterus cancer. Her father; Leon had passed from a car accident when Gianna was only four years old, but had not the slightest clue about any heirloom on his wife's side of the family, because they tended to keep it a secret from the rest of the family. The heirloom was a beautiful necklace. The chain made out of pure silver, surrounding a real blue topaz birth stone. The heirloom had been handed down for a century, made sure to keep in perfect condition for each daughter it had fallen into the hands of. The grandmother of Gianna's who had begun the tradition of this heirloom back in Nineteen twenty had it made by one of the best jewelry craftsman at the time. Every female born into the family that was birthed in December received said necklace. Tara grew cold towards Gianna while she grew into the young woman she is today simply because her, Addilyn, and Gianna herself were all born in December. Addilyn had decided to give Gianna the necklace, but Tara took advantage of her sisters sickness, and stole the necklace whilst she was hospitalized. Addilyn warned her daughter of Tara's obsession over the necklace due to rumors spread by her family members that the necklace was sacred, and misplacing it could wreak havoc in the family. So her mother's last wish was that Gianna took the necklace back, and kept it somewhere her aunt could never find it.

Obeying her mothers wish, Gianna stole the necklace back while Tara was away on vacation, but tonight, she would return home. She knew of the quickly approaching circumstances and so, she packed all of her belongings in two large suitcases and booked a flight to Los Angeles California, from Miami Florida. Taking an Uber to the airport around nine o'clock at night, she urged the driver to go as fast as possible. Arriving at the airport around nine thirty, she practically raced in with her suitcases, and to her flight. She was the first one in line, and on board. When she was sat in her seat, she began to relax. All the adrenaline from rushing and the fear of being caught up by her aunt tired her quickly. She fell asleep almost instantly after sitting down and buckling in.

After a long couple of hours passed, one of the flight attendants had walked up to Gianna, gently awakening her from her slumber. "Excuse me, miss. We've just landed in LA, I just thought I'd wake you to make sure you're at least a little awake by the time you're at the destination you desire to be at." The kind lady in her mid forty's said with a soft smile, before walking down the aisle to the back room of the plane. Gianna smiled back at her, thanking her for waking her up before she unbuckled herself, and proceeded to walk out into the airport. She grabbed her suitcases, and walked outside sitting down on a bench right outside the front doors of the airport. Pulling her phone out of her pocket, she scheduled an Uber to pick her up. Almost instantly after, she remembered that her older half sister; Delaney lives somewhere in LA, she would just have to find out. The two were close when they were younger. They had the same father, but different mothers, and unfortunately Delaney's biological mother had fallen into a deep depression after her father passed from old age, and she committed suicide after Delaney was born. A year and a half later, Leon met Addilyn not too soon after she was dumped after finding out she was pregnant. They started off as best friends, before eventually things progressed into marriage, and Gianna was born a few months after they got together. The marriage didn't last long due to Leon dying in a fatal car accident about two years after they had gotten married. Addilyn struggled raising two young girls by herself, but she knew there was nobody else for her, so she never remarried after Leon's death. Delaney was twenty-nine years old, only five years older than her younger half sister Gianna.

After Gianna scheduled her Uber, she called her sister almost in tears. The phone rung, and rung for about ten seconds before Delaney picked up.

"Hello?"
