★Authors pov;-
In a world where power reigns supreme, the relentless pursuit of it can drive individuals to madness. The insatiable hunger for control can corrupt even the most virtuous souls.
Ranvir, the cunning CEO of Sign Builders, harbors a dark secret. Behind the façade of his legitimate business, he operates a lucrative illegal empire. Years ago, his thirst for dominance led him to sabotage a rival, unaware that he was tampering with fire.
That rival was Abir's father, a respected entrepreneur whose thriving company once dominated Kolkata's landscape. Ranvir's father, driven by greed, betrayed Abir's father, dismantling his empire and leaving him destitute.
The wounds of that betrayal ran deep. Abir, fueled by a burning desire for justice, vowed to reclaim his family's honor. With a sharp mind and an icy demeanor, he meticulously rebuilt his father's business, forging a formidable empire.
The stage was set for a ruthless showdown between Abir and Ranvir. Their rivalry simmered, each seeking to outmaneuver the other. Ranvir, determined to crush Abir, would stop at nothing to assert his dominance.
But Abir's resolve remained unshaken. His family's legacy and his own pride hung in the balance. The battle for power had begun, and only one could emerge victorious.
..........
"Damn it to hell!" Abir slammed his fist on the desk, his face contorted in rage. "How could I have overlooked this?"
Abir's eyes narrowed as he scrutinized the CCTV footage surrounding Mili's house. His gut twisted with anger and concern.
"Ranvir's men have been watching her," he muttered, his voice laced with venom. "For how long?"
The footage revealed a disturbing truth. Ranvir's operatives had been monitoring Mili's every move, gathering intel on her daily routine.
"That's how they knew," Abir growled, his fists clenched. "That's how they kidnapped her, and knew I'd come for her."
★Abir's pov;-
"Track her down, Papon," I ordered. "Find Ranvir's last known location. I'm certain he's concocting something sinister."
"Should we inform your father, boss?" Papon asked.
"Yes, keep him in the loop. It's better he's aware of everything."
As the leader , I knew the weight of responsibility. Being the most powerful came with its burdens, but also its perks. I could do what others dared not, and my people relied on me for protection.
Only my father knew the truth about my life; my mother suspected, but it was safer she remained in the dark.
Last time, I'd turned a blind eye to Ranvir's schemes. Not this time.
"If he touches what's mine," I vowed, "I'll make him pay dearly."
Just then, Papon interrupted, "Sir, we've located Ranvir. It's the same location where he's holding Mili hostage."
"Finally!" I exclaimed. "Inform everyone. We're moving in. This ends today. Ranvir's time is up."

Mili's mind was a jumbled mess. Why was this happening to her? What had she done to deserve such fate?
Twelve hours or more had passed, but time lost all meaning. Ranvir's visits only brought dread. This time, he arrived with food, but Mili's anger boiled over. She kicked the tray, sending everything flying.
Ranvir's patience wore thin. "Behave," he warned, "or face the consequences."
Mili seethed. "Behave? You want me to behave? I'll show you how I behave with a kidnapper!"
No longer a crying mess, Mili's desperation fueled her determination. She knew displaying weakness would seal her fate. She needed to fight back.
But how long could she resist? Ranvir's restraint wouldn't last forever. That realization made her trumble.
He wasn't here and her hands weren't tied anymore. She knew she had to do something. Before he can . She searched for a sharp object, anything to defend herself.
Finally, she found it - a shard of glass. But before she could use it, Ranvir returned, his smirk twisting his face.
"Hello, my dear," he said, locking the door behind him. "Be a good girl and eat."
Mili's resolve hardened. "I won't."
Ranvir's eyes darkened. "You know, anyone else would have been dead by now for disrespecting me. I'm done being patient."
"You're a freak!" Mili spat, her defiance burning brighter. "I'll never give in."
Ranvir's face contorted in rage. "You asked for it."
He grabbed Mili, tossing her onto the bed. "You want to fight? Fight, then. See how long you last."
Mili struggled beneath him, the shard of glass clutched in her hand. But Ranvir pinned her down, his weight crushing.
As she tried to stab him, he seized her wrist, and the glass sliced her palm. Blood oozed from the cut.
Undeterred, Mili fought on, her spirit unbroken.
She was feeling suffocated, her tears were running down like a river from both the physical and mental pain and agony she was suffering.
She couldn't do anything . She's feeling so helpless .
Is this the end ?
She can hear the sound of fabric tearing apart from her body .
Is it really happening to her ?'God please help me.. ' -
That was the one thing she's continuously praying in her mind...And as if God really does hear her
The Door burst open.
The sound of guns could be heard from the outside.
But she couldn't open her eyes anymore.
She was paranoid.
Her heart was pumping wildly inside her chest.
She felt the weight of the monster was being ripped off of her finally. Her body was being covered by something soft.
And the last thing she heard before on the verge of loosing her consciousness was those warm and safe words and the warmth feeling of an embrace.
"Got you, baby," Abir whispered, cradling Mili in his arms. "you're safe now. I've got you."
Tears of relief streamed down Mili's face as she clung to Abir, her body shaking with previous heightened emotions and fears .
"Never letting you go again," Abir vowed, his voice trembling with emotion.
Abir's grip tightened. "You're safe now. Ranvir will never harm you again." She heard him say as he closed her eyes with a relieved sigh.
