Amy ran her fingers through her deep red hair, the summer hadn't prepared her for the difficult move. To some it wouldn't have seemed far, but to her the three- hundred or so miles was like worlds away. She unzipped her favorite leather jacket, fixed her layer look undernieth, and nervously checked her makeup for the third time this morning. She was about to check her hair when her phone went off:
Mackenzie:
Chill, youll b fine. Remeber my 1st day? Yrs cant b worse.
Amy smiled at the memory of Mackenzie tripping over Caroll's feet and falling face- first onto the floor in front of her. From then on it was the three of them, unsepratable until Amy's work finally paid off and she got shipped from her hometown of San Francisco to Los Angeles, alone, and hopeing not to get eaten alive by another public school. Her red wine- colored shoes landed on the pavement and she made a bee- line for the office, trying to lay low for as long she could manage.
"Amy Paige, Tenth." The woman in the office searched her computer for a few secounds then pointed to the printed wordlessly to the printer. Amy shook her head, she didn't remeber people being this rude.
Walking into first period the glares just continued. "You're late."
Amy smiled, "I should be, I had to stop in the office to get my shedule, and I had to find the classroom."
He shook his head "No sass. Now, I'm Fredrick Maynor, you call me Mr. Maynor." He passed her a AP Biology book, and pointed "Over there, back left." before continuing his lecture. Amy placed her head in her hands and shook her head, she had a feeling this was going to get a whole lot worse.

People who knew Amy probably wouldn't call her a sporty person, in fact they'd probably think she was the antithesis of that. But Amy definatly didn't land her dream job because she didn't exercise. So when the gym teacher Ms. Laurence told Amy to call her Katy, and then said to pick her volleyball team, Amy didn't refuse, actually she was quite excited.
"Hey, you're new right?" One girl said as she served the volleyball over the net, "I'm Autumn."
"Cool" The team captain replied, sending the ball in the air to spike it. "I'm Amy." The ball hit the ground with a thud, and the other team groned. Sure they had the sportiest, but Amy had the California girls.
"Alright girls, bells 'bout to ring, lets pack up and ship out." Ms. Laurence yelled.
Autumn grabbed Amy's arm. "What class do you have next?"
"Study Hall, then.." She fumbled her schedule, " Lunch, you?"
"Math then Lunch, your lucky you get study hall though. You have Pre- Calculus class if after lunch, and Mr. Eccleston is ussually cranky then. Adios." She waved as she turned into the class. Amy watched Autumn leave, dreading the class after lunch, math alreaddy wasn't her best subject.
Study hall was a breeze, just as Amy thought it would be, but when the bell rang she couldn't help but be excited for a break from classes. Somehow her locker had landed right across from all the red- weave picnic tables. After depositing her books in the dull grey metal, Amy headed outside. She watched the kids crowd in the lunch line, running her eyes over people for the short secounds until someone tured out the lights.
"Guess Who?"
"The boogie monser? I dunno, who?"
"It's Autum!" Amy turned around, about to reply before her rphone when off, she glanced down at the number, and swore. " I need to leave! Now." she glanced up at Autumn, "Do I need to check out with the office?"
"What's your jurastiction?"
"Work, I gotta' leave. Now."
"Yeah, just tell the office, you have a job." She said sarcastically.
Amy rolled her eyes, "Alright I'm leaving."
"Wait!" Autumn called, "Where are you going?"
Amy looked up and smiled, 'Hollywood, I just landed my dream job."
