The Caroline

Jack was on his way back to DC for a few days off. His back was bad and he wanted to rest.

“Thanks Kenny, Bobby.” Jack said closing the door to his private office. He sunk back into his chair and shut his eyes. He wanted to dispel the pain.

He put his feet on his desk and dialled Jackie’s office number.

“Hello, Jacqueline Bouvier speaking.” Jackie said.

“Hey Jacqueline Bouvier, it’s your boyfriend who is coming into DC really soon.” He joked.

“Oh is he?” She teased.

“Yes, tonight and I will be here till Monday…. Can I expect a visitor tonight?”

“Of course you can, Bunny.”

He smiled. “Good, I can’t wait to see you.”

“Me either.”

7pm

Jack was lying on the sofa in his pyjamas. He heard Jackie unlock the door. “Bunny.” She called.

“I’m in the living room.”

She came in and kissed him. “How are you?”

“Exhausted.”

She sat down and put his legs in her lap. “You look it.”

He groaned. “Thanks, how have you been?”

“I’m fine but I miss you a lot.” She replied.

“I’m sorry.”

She gingerly massaged his foot. “I don’t mind as long as we can still see each other from time to time.”

“Of course.”

There was suddenly a flash through the curtains. Jack sighed. “Stupid press.” He hissed. “They never leave me alone.”

She rubbed his knee. “Relax; it’s just you and me.”

He smiled. “Night.”

She giggled and pulled a blanket over him. She went to make some dinner.

9pm

Jack woke up groggily. “Jackie?”

She stroked his cheek. “Look who’s awake.”

He laughed. “What do I smell?”

“I made some fish chowder.” She handed him a bowel. “Enjoy, we’re going to have fun this week.”

He blushed. “Good.”

After finishing his food Jackie took his hands. “Let’s go upstairs.”

He grinned and followed her. He closed the door before letting his lips crash against hers.

“Oh!” Jackie gasped, her hands stroked his back. He moaned and they fell on to the bed. They got tangled in the covers before falling asleep.
