NINE YEARS AGO

Beep.......                                          Beep.......                                             Beep.......                                        Beep.......                                            Beep.......                                               Urg alarm, I hate them and I don't even have one, but what is alarm doing in my room? Did Mom really get me an alarm? I thought she was joking and why didn't she tell me?                             I tried to open my eyes but they were too heavy.  I lift my hand trying to reach for the alarm but a slight painful pinch on my hand stopped me.
What? I panicked. I force my eyes open and was meet with a very bright white room, I closed my eyes again and open blinking. I look around "hospital!" What happened?" I thought.
"He..... hello" my voice come out hoarse like it has not been used for days."Huh". I cleared my voice and tried again.
"Hello anyone there?" My voice was barely audible. I waited for some seconds but no response come. I tried sitting up but my body seems so heavy and my head begin to ache. I looked around again and saw a red button on the wall just a above my head beside my bed. I tried reaching for it but the door open revealing a lady in white dress rolling in a cart with stuff inside, she must be a nurse.
"Oh you're awake" she said smiling and happiness shone in her green eyes. Immediately a pair of green eyes flash in my brain, some beautiful forest green eyes.
"Urg my head hurts" I said realizing my voice seem a little better   
"hang on" the nurse said
"Let me get the doctor" she said practically running out of the room. I chuckled
Soon a man in long white jacket, dressed like a doctor walk in of couse he is a doctor. The lady walked in after him him and he gave me a polite smile.
"How are you feeling Miss Raymond?he asked
" My head hurts and my body is feeling numb and I feel like I've had a long sleep which might have took days" I replied
"That should be expected after being unconscious for one month two weeks a day and four hours"he said. The lady who was now checking and writing down something on her note gave him a look.
"One month, fifteen days and four hours?" I asked shocked
"Where  is my mom and Peter?" I asked. I really want to see my mom now and Peter.
Peter is actually my step dad and I hate him or more like pretending to hate him. Because of how stubborn I am I refuse to accept the fact that the man has already taken a dad place in my life. He is a good man and makes mom happy. I remembered when mom introduce us I was so angry but seeing the happiness in mom eyes make me accept him but I still make it clear that I might be sharing my mom but no one can take my dad's place.
"Miss Raymond are you listening?" The nurse asked staring at me weirdly. Of course I zone out.
" Sorry what did you say?" I asked trying to sit up cause I was starting to feel uncomfortable lying down. The nurse came and helped me up handing the note to the doctor.
"Your mom will be here soon, we've phone her" the nurse said
"Okay  thanks"  I replied. "By the way am Miss Celine and this is doctor Jones"the nurse said and I give her a smile which she returns with a huge smile. The doctor resume checking me.

Minutes later the door open revealing my mom as she rushed in.
"Oh honey I'm so happy you're awake" she says giving me a hug and I hug her back. I was happy mom was here.
"Doctor how is she?" Mom asked
"She hits her head pretty bad and have a slight amnesia,but she'll recover her memories over time." the doctor said "huh"
"She doesn't remember how she had the accident or her memories from the past weeks but apart from that we've check everything and she okay to be discharge tomorrow. Make sure you take your medication. And please don't try to trigger her memories, it will result in a severe headache"he said looking at both mom and me.
" Thank you doctor "mom told him. He smiled and left and the nurse follow behind.
Mom smile at me stroking my hair
"Mom where is Peter?"I asked knowing fully well that there is no way my step dad wouldn't be here if something like this happens
"I will explain everything later honey, how are you feeling?" Mom asked. Something is up, I know for sure and mom is obviously avoiding the question.
"Did something happen between you two?" I asked worried. They are so much in love with each other.
" No dear"mom answered but her eyes glitter and am now sure something is up.
"Did something happen to him?" I panicked. Why am I in a hospital?,what happened?" I asked
"Honey on your way way back from the airport the car crash, the driver died, your step dad was greatly injured and fall into a coma and you were unconscious" by now we were crying. Peter is a very good man and he doesn't deserve to be in such position, I didn't even have a chance to tell him what a great dad he is. No this can't be happening.
"Honey everything is going to be alright" mom said
" Mom I don't want anything to happen to him"I cried
"Shhh  I know" mom said Petting my head." As soon as you're discharged we are going to see him okay?
"Okay mummy" I replied

As I sat by my step dad bed, I realized that I can't lose him. He has pipes in his nose and mouth. He has bandage all over him and the heart monitor was beeping. It was a terrible sight and I pray he would just wake up. This man is always there for me, even though I was stubborn and make things hard for him, he still take care of my and show me father's love. I just pray he wakes up. I just want to see him open his eyes and smile telling my everything is okay.
Then some pair of forest green eyes flash in my brain......
