Wait a minute, what about-
No. I changed it so the awareness of it was just starting. Even I need a break from a virus that got blown out of proportion.
Nice. So?
Only half the population are wearing their masks.
Isn't that already happening now?
. . .

Leaving hotel room 5373 behind, George walked down the carpeted hallway. Finding the same door should be easy, considering it was one of the two rooms at the very end of the carpet. The only bad news was that the elevator was clear on the other side of the building. So, down the much closer stairs it was.

Despite being on the top floor of the complex, there were only 3 flights of stairs. Pushing the fire exit door open, a wave of humidity hit George like a wall. The ocean sounded off a ways, the splashing of water and laughter coming from the other direction. The warm sunlight encouraged the Brit to knock down his sunglasses onto his nose, helping calm the brightness of the tropical landscape.

Birds chirped overhead in the palms, a small finch or two occasionally hopping along the walkway scouring for any fries or other fallen foods. The blue t-shirt could be seen heading down the path, the brown hair moving back and forth as the white sunglasses took in the scenery. The wooden path split off three ways, a sandy beach and crystal water now within view and a possible directions. A tiered swimming pool sat straight ahead, a basketball hoop on the lower end with rock stairs heading up to what looked to be a waterpolo net. There looked to be large group up there, throwing a blue and white ball back and forth. The final branch headed right towards a building, George only know noticing that another hotel complex sat across the pool.

While the beach was tempting, the growl of his stomach was much more demanding. With a turn to the right, the path left the noisy pool as a wall of foliage blocked off the pool. A much calmer pool came into view, large Koi fish coming in yellows, oranges, and golds. On the other side of the tranquil water, two guys were busy throwing in what looked like dog kibble, laughing as two Koi fought over the pieces. One had obsidian hair, looking like he was placing bets on who would get it. The other one, this one with bronze highlights, slightly moved the almost depleted bag of food out of the way before giving the smaller a shove.

With a yelp, the first landed into the water. Even from where George was he could hear the drenched man growl. Highlight was laughing, looking up for a minute and spied the Brit. Mischievious smile stuck on his face, Highlight gave a wave to which George slowly returned. Obsidian noticed this as well, and said something to his attacker. By now he had gotten up out of the water, the fish back to their slow swim. George couldn't hear what Obsidian said, but he could clearly see the flustered reaction it caused on Highlight.

Now it was Highlight's turn to growl, Obsidian already zooming down the pathway towards the beach. "DON'T YOU DARE-" By now Highlight was out of earshot as he gave chase after the younger one.

"He, idiots." George chuckled to himself, continuing on his way. Finding a path to the other side of the pond, he figured why not.

Lillypads drifted lazily on the water, a few vibrant blue dragonflies skittering over the top of the plants' blossoms. Smaller minnows darted along the bottom of the pond, most likely being the janitors of the frog water. The Koi themselves varied in size, some only half the length of his arm with others large enough to eat George's arm up to the elbow. Honestly it was amazing that the smaller ones weren't eaten yet.

Reaching the already drying footprints of the two, George spied the back of dog food on the ground. With a chuckle, George poured the rest of the smelly kibble into his palm. A crumpled piece of paper came with it as well, it getting picked out from the bead-sized pellets.
