3.Goodbye Home

Alexis finally walked into the living room of her house to see Ryan running around grabbing things.

"What are you doing Ryan?" Alexis said as she wrapped her arms around herself from the cool winter wind coming in from the broken front door.

"I'm grabbing things we will need to get to our destination. A days trip from here there has been word of a school holding the living like us."Ryan responded as he finished putting stuff in the duffle bag he was carrying.

"Why on earth do we need to go so far? It's only a minor virus. If we stay here we can take care of my family and let the virus die down."

Alexis looked at Ryan almost begging for what she said to be true. "Or is it something big? Because whatever sickness took over my family was not good..."

Ryan walked over to Alexis and gently grabbed ahold of her shoulders so she would listen to him better.

"This is not a small sickness this is the Zombie Apocalypse I know it's supposed to be just some stupid fan fiction or whatever but this is real life. That might be your family down there Alexis but they can not control their actions anymore.They Are a danger to us so is every other one that is waiting for us outside." Ryan said while he backed away slinging the duffle bag over his shoulder.

"So are you coming Alexis? Or should I just let you stay here and wait for the end that will never come."
Alexis realized Ryan wasn't joking so she hurriedly grabbed her phone and charger rushing out the back door wishing her family well until she can come back and help them.

"So how long should it take for us to arrive at the school?"

"I have my car around the corner. If we can make it to my car then we should be able to make it before tomorrow night," Ryan said deep in thought

Alexis pushed open the gate as quietly as she could and waved Ryan over once the coast was clear.

"I see my car right there and it looks like all the walkers are out front but we still need to stay quiet" Ryan whispered as he pushed Alexis forward and ran towards the car .

Luckily it was unlocked so they were able to jump in without a noise.

Alexis accidently closed the car door harder than she meant too and it was like a bullet through a quiet night. All the walkers started coming towards the car.

"Oh my gosh we are gonna die!"Alexis shouted in fear

"Not as long as you got this crazy man driving we won't" Ryan slammed on the gas and drove down the road as fast as he could without running into anything.

He didn't slow down till all they could see was trees around them.

"Just a few more hours,I have an extra can of gas in the back so we should be good till we hit another safe place." Ryan Explained as he was paying close attention to their surroundings.

"So where is the place anyways?" Alexis asked half awake from the stressful day

"We are heading to the border of Kansas"

That's all Alexis could hear before her eyes finally fluttered shut and accepted the sleep that had pulled her in.
