CHAPTER 2 - Y/N'S POV - THREE MONTHS LATER

It's been three months since I lost my daughter, but it's also been three months since I became Jasmine's mother. Life as a single mother wasn't easy, but I was doing ok. I had the first two months off, which was very nice and helpful, but now I had to adapt myself to my new work-baby routine. My mom helped in the beginning, but now I was on my own. Things definitely weren't easy, but it was all worth it, especially the breastfeeding. Those moments were magical... it felt like Jazz and I were one. All the pain and discomfort just seemed so unimportant while she fed from me.

I was currently a Saturday and I had just taken Jazz for a walk at Central Park. I stopped at Starbucks as a "post-workout" reward. I was trying to open the door while holding the stroller when a strong pair of arms held the door for me.

"After you."

I turned my head to the source of the voice and met the most beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen. Wow, just wow!

"I... I... thanks.", I stuttered.

"No problem."

"Sebastian, help her with the baby too.", I heard the lady next to him say.

Sebastian. Why did I feel like I knew him? And then it clicked... Sebastian freaking Stan was holding the door for me.

"Sorry, would you like some help with the baby, ...?"

"Y/N. Y/N Y/LN."

"Sebastian Stan."

"Yeah, I kinda figured that one out on my own..."

"Right... so, is there anything else I can do for you?"

"No, I'm good. Thanks though."

I smiled at him and headed to the line with Sebastian and the lady right behind me. We were making small talk when suddenly the lady started clearing her throat.

"Oh, sorry. Y/N, this is my mom."

"Nice to meet you."

"Likewise. First-time mother?"

"Yes... how did you know?"

"Takes one to know one. How old is the baby?"

"She's three months old."

"What's her name?", Sebastian asked.

"Jazz. Jasmine Elizabeth. Want to hold her?"

"Oh, no, I don't want to impose..."

"You're not...", I said as I lifted Jazz from her stroller.

I slowly put her in his arms and smiled at the adorable face he made.

SEBASTIAN'S POV

The moment Y/N put her daughter in my arms, I just felt something... something I had never felt before. I ignored the feeling and looked at the baby again. She was perfect. Too perfect. But that feeling came back. I don't know what it was, but something about this baby seemed so familiar. I just gave the baby back to Y/N.

"She's beautiful. Congratulations."

"Thank you."

A few minutes later, Y/N had ordered and was getting ready to leave. She said goodbye and I smiled at her. Suddenly I feel my mother tugging my shirt.

"I don't know about you, but I had a deja-vu feeling when I saw that baby. I know it's weird, but she looked a lot like you."

"You think?", I asked.

"Yes. This is just so weird."

            Pause.

"Wait... she said the baby was three months old, right?", my mom asked.

"Yeah..."

"And you broke up with Claire about a year ago, right?"

"Yes, but what does it have to do with Y/N's daughter?"

"Do the math. Three months plus nine months equal twelve months. One year. Don't you get it?"

"No..."

"That baby is your daughter. Yours and Claire's."

"That's impossible. That's Y/N's baby. She doesn't seem like someone who would steal a baby and Claire would have told me if she was pregnant, even if we broke up."

"I know it seems crazy, but you can't deny you felt some sort of connection to that baby."

"Yeah, but-"

"You have to see that baby again and find out what the story behind her is."

"I can't."

"You have to. That baby could be your daughter, your blood."

"I- fine. What do you suggest I do?"

"Come back here at the same time next week and talk to Y/N."

"Do you think she'll talk?"

"You're a charming person... use it in your favor."

"I'll try."

SEBASTIAN'S POV - ONE WEEK LATER

I was seated at Starbucks, almost giving up on my mom's crazy plan, when Y/N walked through the door. I made my way to her as suave as I could in order for her not to realize all this was actually planned.

"Y/N!"

"Hey, fancy seeing you here."

"Want me to watch Jazz while you order?"

"I... sure."

Y/N took a place in line and I headed back to my table with the baby. Her baby? My baby? I don't know. All I know is that my mom was right... that baby looked a lot like me. Too much like me. I waited till Y/N was back at the table to confront her.

"So... you're a single mother, right?", I asked as she sat down.

"Yeah, any problem?"

""No! Just curious. You just seemed extra-strong. Something about you just screams 'I'm Wonder Woman'."

"Well, I am Wonder Woman."

"I don't doubt it. So, what's the story behind your beautiful daughter?"

"She was the best decision I've ever made. Adopting her was the best thing ever. She helped me go through some pretty tough times. She's my anchor."

"She's lucky to have you."

"And I'm lucky to have her."

And that was it. I knew that baby was my daughter. That baby girl was blood of my blood. She was mine. And I wasn't gonna let her go.
