Today was a nightmare for Stacy. She was late to work, and all of her files were deleted. Her files on the Brett case. The Bretts were a family of three and when an incident occurred the family was reduced to one, the son.

As Stacy pulled into the office garage, she quickly scrambled out of her car and pressed the elevator button. And then she saw the sign: OUT OF ORDER! As she let out a long sigh, Stacy started the Dreaded climb up the stairs.

Reaching the top, Stacy opened the office door and quickly sprinted to her desk. She search for her back up files and to her relief, they were there. Stacy picked up one of the files and studied it. Something was different about these files then the original copy.

As Stacy was trying to find out what was putting her on edge Jim was trying to figure out what that thing chasing him last night could have been. The more he thought about it the more he wanted to know what it was. It couldn't have been a Dycil. Dycils have a defect of only having three fingers. So what was it?. Just then there was a knock on the front door of his tiny house. He answered, and on the other side of the door was a small girl about the age of six. She ask said she was missing a calico cat that was last seen in Jim's neighborhood. Jim told her that he saw that cat down in the neighborhood last night. And so the little girl ran back to her mom, who was waiting on the side walk, and Jim watched as they departed. After this encounter Jim started to worry about the little girl and her mother. Would they be safe? Is the thing that attacked him going to attack them too? Probably not, it's best not to worry. Jim slouched over the table with his work and research about local anomalies near his house, and got back to work.

As Stacy set down the file, she caught a glimpse of  her own ID card.

NAME: Stacy Red
AGE: 23

The rest was covered by the file. Stacy got up and when she saw that it was already dark out, she almost jumped. This startled her because that must have meant she was studying this stupid document that in no way was actually different, for the whole day! She had wasted all of her time that she could have spent doing something more productive! What ever, She had more pressing matters. Tonight she was scheduled to meet up with a team of agents working the same case she was. These agents were trained and specially biologically modified to be able to use a built in radio active  weapon that requires eight fingers.
