I walk up to the gates of Karasuno. "I hate being the new guy. I don't wanna be here." I sigh and go inside to find the office.
Inside the school I groan and look around. "So many people." I make my way to the office to get my locker assignment and class schedule.
I take my locker number and schedule from the secretary and start my search for the third year hall. I must have looked really lost because a guy with entirely too much energy comes up to me. "Hi! Do you need some help? I'm Hinata by the way"
"Uh, yeah, I could use some help. Jimmy by the way." I hand him my schedule.
"We have all the same classes. Just follow me and I will take you to your locker and then we can go to class. Do you play any sports?" He asks smiling.
"Uh..I used to play volleyball and baseball." I say quietly.
"Used to?" He asks looking even more excited.
"Yeah, I don't want to talk about it." I say quietly.
"You should come to practice after school. You can meet the team!" He says excitedly
"I...uh sure. I'm not playing though." I say quietly.
"We can probably change your mind, but will respect your decision." He says stopping. "This is your locker."
I put my bag inside and get my books out and close it.
I followed Hinata around school to each class, keeping quiet and only talking to him. He meets me at my locker and fidgets as he waits.
"You ready?" He asks smiling widely.
"Sure." I say sighing.
"You remind me of Kageyama." He says laughing as we walk to the gym.
I don't say anything and follow him. I can hear the sound of balls hitting the floor and shouts coming from the gym. Hinata opens the door and yells. "Sorry I'm late. I brought someone to watch. Jimmy this is the team and guys this is Jimmy. He's new and he used to play!"
"Hi." I say looking at everyone when my eyes land on a tall, dark haired guy. He looked like I felt. Like he didn't want to be here. I walked over to the bleachers and sit down and wait for them to start.
As practice starts, I find my eyes drifting over to him. He plays really well and him and Hinata work amazing together. The way he moves is like watching calm, flowing water.
Practice ends and a few of them ask about why I don't play anymore and I tell them the same thing I told Hinata. They go to change and clean up and I look for Hinata to tell him I'm leaving. I go into the locker room and Kageyama is changing. I find myself starring. Damn...he is sexy as hell...No...Not again. I shake the thoughts from my head and he turns around and blushes a little.
"Hinata is in the other locker room." He says quietly.
"Okay." I say leaning in the doorway, crossing my arms. "You can continue." I say smirking a little.
He stares at me and smirks back, putting his clothes on slowly. "See something you like?" He snorts sarcastically
"Not really, but now I know you like guys." I say turning to leave smiling. I find Hinata and tell him I'm leaving and walk out to my car.
I continue this routine with Hinata for a couple weeks. Locker, classes, locker, practice, home.
"Hey, Hinata, can I ask you something?" I say on the way to the gym.
"Of course." He replies smiling.
"Are you and Kageyama...um..." I can't ask because I'm a little scared of the answer.
"Um...are we dating?" He asks
"Yeah."
He laughs loudly. "No, why do you ask?"
"No reason. Just curious." I say quietly.
"Do you like him?!" He asks stopping and standing in front of me with his hands on my shoulders.
"No, of course not." I say stepping away from him. He follows me inside the gym and I take my normal seat in the bleachers watching everyone warm up.
Everyone says their 'hello' and I give them a wave and lock eyes with Kageyama for a second and smirk. He looks away but not before I notice the slight blush. I'm not the only one who notices.
"Are you okay Kags?" Suga asks looking him over. "You're flushed."
"I'm fine." He grumbles and goes to his spot on the court glancing at me briefly.
I watch as they practice and cannot keep my eyes off him. I am so lost in my thoughts that I don't hear Daichi call practice or Hinata yelling at me until he is standing in front of me, waving his hands.
"Hello? Where did you go?" He asks laughing.
"Oh, I....are y'all done?" I ask watching as the others go to the locker rooms.
"Yeah, do you want to go with us to get food?" He asks smiling.
"Sure." I answer back.
He leans in close to me and I back up a bit. "Kags is in the south locker room. Alone. In case you wanted to know."
I smile a little and get up. "I'll wait for you out front." I get up and leave the gym.
The team comes out, talking about weekend plans and such and I follow at the back as Hinata catches up.
"So, what are you doing this weekend?" He asks smiling.
I shrug and look up, my eyes automatically landing on Kageyama. I quickly look away and keep walking.
"You should come to Tanaka's house tonight. He is having a party and I think you'd have a good time. Kags will be there." He says quietly.
I roll my eyes and say nothing. We get to the coach's store and the guys go in. I lean against the wall and dig out my phone. I'm scrolling through my social media when a shadow covers my phone and I look up.
"Why do you keep coming to practice?" Kageyama asks quietly.
"Because Hinata asked me too. Why? Is it a problem?" I ask stepping closer to him.
"It's distracting." He says and walks away.
