I turn around to come nearly face-to-face with the most gorgeous guy I've ever seen. He has long, jet-black hair, with a streak of red, as well as shark bites and an eye-brow piercing. He's wearing an Asking Alexandria t-shirt, along with a bunch of band bracelets, along with grey skinny jeans and a black beanie.
"What do you mean?' I question, not knowing exactly what he thinks he knows.
"You're one of Dakota's slaves, are you not?" he asks.
"How do you know any of this?" I ask.
"Because. I'm his best friend," he says, biting one of his lip rings. "Or, used to be. Anyway, I can help you guys."
"How?" asks Alexandria's boyfriend, whose name I still haven't learned yet.
"I've seen the vault."
"Vault? What vault?" I ask.
"The one he has all of his souls in. Y'know, the one's his dad gives him?"
"My soul," whispers Alexandria, spacing out for a minute. Then, she starts bouncing in excitement. "We have to let him help, Serephina. C'mon, please?!"
The two boys who came as our gaurds look at me, as if it's my decision. "Why are you all looking at me?"
"We're not brave enough to say the idea out loud, let alone complete the task," says the one who had been sitting next to me.
I contemplate the pros and cons of us trying to get our souls back:
The pros: We would get our souls and freedom back. All a person really needs, I guess. Other than food and water, anyway.
The cons: We might get caught, killed, tortered, etc.
In some way, somehow, in my brain, the pros definitly out-weigh the cons. "Let's do it," I say confidently.
The boy looks at me, nods, and says, "I'm Eli Powers."
And with that, he just...leaves.
