Celista leads Mark to The Fates. They enter a room and see three women, a young woman by the name of Clotho. She is spinning some string, a middle-aged woman named Lachesis, who is measuring the string, and an older woman, Atropos, who cuts the string. They look at Celista, and Clotho asks, "Celista, what brings you here?"
"Mark Covington refuses to transcend to the spirit realm." Cellista proclaims. "He wants to plead his case."
The three women look over at him, and Lachesis says to him, coldly, "Your destiny has been sealed."
"No!" Mark says adamantly. "I need to make things right with my family, especially my oldest daughter Gabrielle!"
"Ah, yes, Gabrielle." Atropos says. "You jumped in front of your daughter so she wouldn't get killed by Metao Ruiz."
"Yeah! What was I supposed to do, let my daughter die!" Mark says seriously.
"Because you took it upon yourself, you sacrificed yourself for Gabrielle." Atropos says seriously.
"And if I didn't jump in to save her!!" Mark says seriously.
"She would be where you are now." Lachesis says.
Mark gets a scared look in his eyes and says, "You mean to tell me that Gabrielle was supposed to die!"
"You altered her destiny and yours by saving her." Clotho says.
"Therefore, you must take her place." Atropos says adamantly.
Mark looks at the three women and says with an angered look on his face, "Are you serious! Can't we come to an agreement here!"
"You choose to save Gabrielle; therefore, you sealed your fate," Clotho says.
"You don't understand! I need to make things right with my daughter, Gabrielle!" Mark pleads. "Aphrodite showed me who she is, what her purpose in her past life was, and her purpose in this life!!"
"You do know that you treated her like crap," Atropos says coldly.
"Writing her off just because of who she loves! How cruel!" Lachesis says sternly.
"Listen, I know I was an ass to Gabrielle, but you have to understand, I need to make things right with her!" Mark says seriously. "I need to tell her that I'm sorry, and I need her forgiveness!"
"Isn't your sacrifice forgiveness enough," Lachesis says with a cruel look on her face.
"What the Hell!" Mark screams. "Don't you have any compassion in you!"
"Your daughter was supposed to die, but you took it upon yourself to take her place," Atropos says seriously. "Therefore, you must transcend to your spirit world."
"Can't I go back and change things!" Mark pleads. "Let me go back and get a hold of Gabrielle sooner! Maybe then we both wouldn't be stuck in this situation!"
"You can't go back and alter anything," Clotho says. "You altered her fate by taking her place."
"That's bullshit!" Mark yells.
"Would you have had her die instead?" Lachesis says.
"No!" Mark proclaims. "Don't you people believe in second chances!!

In the waiting room, Allyson, Racheal, Xena, and Gabrielle sit waiting for any news. Racheal gets up, walks to Gabrielle, sits next to her, and puts her head on Gabrielle's shoulder. Gabrielle kisses her sister's head with tears in her eyes.
"Dad really called you Gabrielle?" Rachel asks.
Gabrielle smirks a little and says, "Yeah, he did."
