"I don't know! Did she really have to act that way? It's an accident!"

"Maybe she's just having a hard time." He looked at me with concern. "We all have a rough day."

"Kahit na. Did she really have to put it on me?" Reklamo ko pa rin.

Wala kasi sa mood yung kaklase ko kanina. Nag-uusap kami nung kaibigan ko nung aksidente ko siyang nabunggo and she yelled at me like whut da fak? So ayun, badtrip din ako pag-uwi kaya napa-kwento ako kay Jae.

"Look on the other side of the story. Your perspective is different from hers. It's the first time she burst like that, right? Maybe she's really just having a hard time. Just gave her some time to cool down."

I look at him with annoyance but deep inside, I agree with him. Naisip ko na rin kanina na baka may problema lang siya kaya niya ako nasigawan. Posible din na nabigla lang siya, or she thought sinadya ko but either way, it's okay.

Bumuntong-hininga na lang ako. Siguro nga medyo naging OA lang ako.

"Three weeks left." Sabi ko at tumingin sa kanya.

"Yeah."

"So, see you when I see you na lang?"

He chuckled a bit as he shook his head. I smile though, deep inside, it hurts me to think that a friend will leave.

"It sucks!" Reklamo ko pa. "No one will be waiting for me here in the patio every after school."

"Don't speak as if I'll leave now. I have three remaining weeks left." Sagot naman niya sabay irap sa akin.

"Oh, bakit? Advance ako mag-isip." Sabi ko pa. "It's better to prepare myself now."

"It's hard to leave a friend." Sagot niya.

"It's also hard to be left behind." Sagot ko naman.

"Meaning, either way is hard so don't think about it now. Three weeks may be short but let's make it worth while." Tumayo siya sabay pagpag ng hita niya. "And also, we're in a modern day. There's so called internet and gadgets."

As days pass, mas lalo kaming nagiging malapit sa isa't-isa pero mas lalong nakakalungkot na aalis na siya. Who would imagine us being friends? Kahit ako, hindi yun inexpect. Mas nagiging open na rin siya sa iba pang kasama namin sa bahay.

One time, nagpunta sila sa isang amusement park sa Laguna. Treat yun ni mommy sa kanila dahil may iba sa kanila na babalik na ng Korea the other day. They also went to Tagaytay at bumili ng mga souvenirs.

"Ano 'to?" Tanong ko nang iabot niya sa akin ang maliit na paper bag.

"Gift?" Nag-aalangang sagot niya. Hindi niya kasi sure kung ano yung tinanong ko.

"Uy, wow!" Namangha ako nang ilabas ko ang isang dream catcher at maliit na pouch na hand crafted. "Thank you!"

He smiles at me bago siya umupo sa swing.

"Four days na lang!" I said to myself. We already exchange numbers just in case. It's also saddening because I won't be there when he leave dahil may pasok ako. He said he understand, tho. I am actually thinking of a gift for him pero until now, wala pa rin akong maisip na ibibigay sa kanya.
