*Remi's POV*

If I could curl up into a ball and die, I would. I am... beyond mortified about what happened during my heat. I can't believe I actually begged Sawyer to touch me!

That can't happen again. I won't let it.

...Except my heat will come every month until I'm marked. Fuck.

Thud. "Ow." Thud. "Ow." Thud. "Ow." Before I can hit my forehead against the table for a fourth time, Asher sticks his hand between my head and the table.

"Come on, Remi," Asher tries to cheer me up. "It probably wasn't that bad."

"Not that bad?" I gape at him. "Ash, I begged Sawyer to touch me! That's as bad as it can get!"

"At least you didn't beg him to fuck you," Stone shrugs. "That would've been worse."

"I would throw myself out a window before doing that," I grumble before my eyes widen in realization. "Hey! Why do you assume he'd be the one doing the fucking?"

Stone cracks a smile. "Is that a serious question? Have you seen yourself? You were practically made to be a bottom."

"Stone!" Asher scolds him.

"I was not!" I argue, feeling very offended. "If anyone was made to be a bottom, it's Gabriel."

That manages to shut both boys up. Stone's jaw snaps shut while Asher's cheeks turn bright pink. I narrow my eyes, noticing their suspicious reactions. They can't both possibly like Gabriel... right?

"Anyway," Stone clears his throat. "What are you planning on doing for your next heat? Clearly, avoiding each other isn't going to work. Maybe you should just give in, see what it's like."

My stomach twists at the thought. "How can you say something like that so casually?"

He rolls his eyes. "It's just sex. What's the big deal?"

"I know you're used to watching human porn," Asher chimes in, glaring at our friend, "but sex between wolves is a bigger deal. We're supposed to save ourselves for our mates."

Stone narrows his eyes at my cousin. "I know how sex works between wolves," he fires back, and this time Asher rolls his eyes. "Besides, Remi and Sawyer are mates. It's natural for them to have sex. So why not just go for it?"

"Because we hate each other?" I remind him, and Stone gives me a droll stare.

"Are you trying to convince me, or yourself?"

Sputtering, I gape in shock from the audacity of my so-called friend. "I-I don't need to convince anyone! I hate him and he—"

"Why?" Stone interrupts, furrowing his dark brows. "Seriously, why do you guys hate each other so much?"

"Because he's a dick."
