Omegaverse Rules & Such

Hi! I did a bit of research and consulted a few wattpad books on here on Omegaverse to help me decide the rules and random stuff I would like to include and focus on within this story. I'm going to section this off as well, basically going by vocabulary words. You don't have to read this as I will explain in text as well certain aspects of the ABO dynamics as the story progresses, but this can be used to refer back to anytime!

First and foremost, I will not be including any of the persecution that Omegas have experienced in the past as far as them being "the weakest" goes. There will already be enough angst in this, so for the most part there is no discrimination. There will be some instances of complete douchebags saying shit like that, however the world has evolved to see Omegas as somewhat divine creatures. This story does, however, focus on the manipulation of that ideal in the favor of one particular line of Alphas.

In some fictions, it can be determined at birth or there are blood tests, however in this fiction it's realized by genetic predictions (although not always accurate) and how they develop through puberty. It cannot be said for sure which secondary gender the child will be until the age of 16. All require their own distinct scent.

In this version, Omegas present anywhere between 9-12, and typically experience their first heat after 13-16. Before experiencing their first real heat, the young Omegas will experience a fever anywhere from six to twelve times a year and have an odd scent, typically similar to their own but sweeter or more savory than normal. If a young Omega smells like bread for instance (a really bad example), they'll smell more like cake or toast during these pre-heats. Once these fevers have gone on for about 1-4 years, in addition to slight weight gain and widening of the hips (in addition to most other typical puberty symptoms) they will experience the first heat. They also are extremely sensitive to Alpha pheromones and can be triggered easily by a rut before their heats regulate due to their hypersensitive sense of smell. Omega's have canines similar to that of a normal human, just slightly sharper. There are signs in early childhood if the child is more inclined towards feminine toys and characteristics (playing house, taking care of babies, being very motherly and kind towards others). They develop some scary good hearing usually, thought to be a leftover of evolution for finding lost pups (children).

When a Beta presents (ages 12-14), they are quite similar to what we consider a normal human's hormonal development. Periods and new hair in weird places and pimples—all the fun stuff. However, the only difference they experience is that their canines will grow a bit and average to somewhere between that of an Omega and an Alpha. Some can experience something similar to a rut or heat due to influence by the other secondary genders scents, and typically have better senses of smell than either Alphas or Omegas. They do not typically experience these situations unless they're thrown into it though. In early childhood, Betas show that they may be Betas by exhibiting normal child behavior, although they are less inclined to fight and more inclined to stop fights–or if they're little trouble-makers, they instigate and watch or simply mediate until it gets too bad (and this continues throughout life)

Alphas present first by their large canines, weight gain, and a strange scent. This scent is typically pretty harsh. They are particularly sensitive to others scents, however their noses are pretty much the same as humans other than when it comes to those around them. They do develop amazing sight, better than any other secondary gender. They will have an obsession with marking things with their scent or handwriting or literally anything possible to make it theirs—lots of problems with vandalism's as a result. They are also the most emotionally volatile during this time. The process of Alpha puberty starts around 10 and finishes anywhere between 17-24, where they are simply growing and getting more muscular. Similar to the way typical human boys grow.
