Chloe Chanel is my best friend. She's been with me ever since I can remember and she has always, always been a great friend. But that's just the problem. She's been a great friend to me and I'm falling in love with her boyfriend behind her back.

What hurts me the most is that I could have had him. I had a chance with him and I didn't take it. Maybe it's true, what they say, that you never know how much you love someone until you can't have them anymore. Because that is just it with Jared. I never realized how much he meant to me until he was Chloe's.

Chloe gets to hold his hand now. She gets to hug him, kiss him on the cheek, run her fingers through his hair anytime she wants. She makes him happy and makes him smile in ways where no one else can. She deserves him.

But I should get used to this by now, shouldn't I? Because Chloe has always been better than me. She has always been prettier and more talented. She can sing, dance, act, perform and write poems and stories. She can do basically everything. And if our grades are any indication, I know that she's smarter. Chloe is perfect.

Ever since we were kids, Chloe has always gotten whatever she wanted. Even him. Chloe is so popular because she's so kind and so smart and so amazing, everyone loves Chloe. Especially him. And she is such a good person that I can't even hate her for it.

And I know that I can never get in the way of their relationship. I don't think anyone can. They were made for each other - a match made in heaven indeed.

Still, I can't help but think that once upon a time, I could have had him. I just didn't take the chance. And it's all too late now. I hate myself for it. Because of all people, why did I have to fall in love with my best friend's boyfriend?
